I got a 6.5" component fitted on my front door.
the shop that did the cutting of the panel didnt do a good job.
although the size was correct, when i wind down my windows the window will hit the speaker slightly.
this is because the the 6.5" is kinda deep, about 8cm.
if im not mistaken there are some kind of "spacers" to put between the speakers and door panel to avoid this problem.
where to find?how much?
any other suggestions?

most of the accessories shop does that

but u shud go back to where u fit them to ask them to settle it
normally installation cost include the spacer already

i heard of this common problem with P2 small cars like kancil and kelisa...are u driving one bro smile.gif ?

i wonder why when u did ur comps they didnt mention it to u cos when i asked on quotation to put comps on my kelisa doors, they told me need to put spacers to eliminate the window problem... thumbup.gif

better go to them again and ask them to do it, since they did a piss poor job for u... doh.gif

yep....example my kelisa...

Alpine Type S components can fit in nicely with the baffle (or that wooden ring as u guys call it).

but the Alpine Type R cannot. the installer tried installing it so many different ways.... so many different baffles all oso cannot masuk. which is why in the end i settled for the Type S

another way is install the sub at the door panel itself
then fibre an enclosure for it...
better effect than using baffle

u mean sub or component speaker rolleyes.gif ? as far as i know, in my beginner ICE knowledge experience, i have not came across any car which has sub mounted on a door panel, atleast not at the side doors... biggrin.gif

ur idea seems OK, but making a fibre enclosure would be costly tongue.gif ....just like those custom car body kit/skirting which is expensive... sweat.gif sweat.gif

Custom Fiber enclosure for the front 6.5" mid-bass do not cost that much in most cars(between $250 to $350) but you will need at least 2 days to get it completed; can always dismantle door panel & leave it at shop while you drive around without it for 2 to 3 days.
