Have you join Prius Club Malaysia? Most can't last more than 3 years..
*
Have you really joined the club and read through instead? If not, there's one here Toyota Prius Malaysia in Car Clubs, see how many happy Prius owner there. Don't simply make such irrational assumption - "MOST", where's your statistic to label it as "MOST"? By the way, @iHealth C350e has keyless entry, who told you don't have? I am driving one for 2 months + now, need to stress about it, I've only pumped petro once thus far, yes no kidding. But bear in mind, the FC really depends on the user e.g. how you drive, your everyday route etc.

the only thing missing for c350e is that it is not an amg exterior, just amg interior.

Yes you are right, and there's no AMG logo too.

I'm pretty sure there's 3 options for the C350e.
Avantgarde at RM 289k
AMG Line Interior at RM 294k
AMG Interior & Exterior at RM 299k.

When I bought it that time, the SA told me only two variants, there was no AMG int+ext. I don't think the AMG fits well on a hybrid anyway biggrin.gif

Why hybrid ? Max 36 Km nia !
*
36km means you can run for that distance on 100% electric mode after each charge. For everyday use, we put hybrid mode on, the car will charge itself when you lift your pedal off or press the brake. So it gives you more than 36km as a matter of fact. Does it work? Look at the attached picture, enough said. Well, if petrol cost is not a issue to you, just turn the 100% petrol mode on and u will drive it like a normal C250 with dozens more features.

The car is almost 300k, if there's no energy saving car special tax, the price will be much more than that, for example in Hk, C350e is more than 350k ringgit. It is more useful to European coz they have further individual tax relief for driving energy saving car.

So, this car is created for a purpose, not just a toy. Btw, the electric mode can go for around 24km only, but no problem, I still can get 3.8l/100km, how fantastic it is. I like the tech, but is it at it's best? No, but it could be the future. Ps I still have not gone to the petrol station for the second time, sometimes I wish it could drink the petrol faster when the price is down. Lol

how is lugging the extra weight around? if not mistaken its 300kg heavier right? driving experience wise.
*
I'm just an average joe driver, I hardly feel there's extra weight on my car, it goes effortlessly as any car without a big fat battery haha. I read some car reviews that they do feel the weight, I am still trying to figure that out. You should
Go for a test yourself to find out.

I tested c350e Amg interior model. It is really slightly more sluggish compared to the c200
Mercedes is trying to clear c350e stock. Refuse to launch c350e amg exterior and c250 amg ....
*
What driving mode u on when u test drive? Eco or comfort? I tested c200 too but I can't tell the difference. Maybe I didn't floor the C200 well? It felt the same to me, in fact less power compared to C350e, especially when I tried to accelerate the car.

C250 is always rare , even for the w204! Just like 328i, what you see often are 320i!
*
Why you think they are rare? They are everywhere. Yes, I hate the eco mode too, I only use it when I really into slow drive or I wanna challenge myself for better FC record. Here's what I think about the car

1) In Hybrid, it is adequate to deliver as a C200, but you do feel sluggish if compared to C250, after all, it's hybrid, it serves its own purpose. I don't think C200 is near to it, especially if I turn off the hybrid. C350e is the energy saving version to C250.

2) To match the performance of a C250, hybrid mode got to be off, but still, a bit lag. Maybe the weight does come into a factor in this scenario?

I don't think it is suitable to someone who always emphasis on performance, that's why, it is a plug in hybrid which caters to its own niche crowd. Otherwise, I would also get C250, is cheaper too. I drove C250 before, the older gen, it was a company car. I switched from 320D, so I've done my consideration enough to buy it. The major reason I get it is because I wanna try a hybrid car as I've never own one before. biggrin.gif

This kind of car is either you hate it or you like it, Malaysian in general still not willing to give it a try coz is not convincing and afraid of many things like resell value and the battery. I'm on this trial and will see what happened in 3 years time. So far, I like it and I'm happy about it. Hope no major issue down the road, will give you all update here. Btw, the car Is so serene in electric mode, felt so luxurious. But once the combustion engine kicks in, I hate the noise.

It is rare! Compared the ratio of c200 to c250 or even 320i to 328 I!Not many ppl is willing to fork out another 40k from c200 to get the 250! FYI, the ride is firmer on the 250! If one  wanna own a luxury marquee and worry about RV then I am speechless ! It's true, I am not convinced about this electric thingy as for now! I am more of a performance orientated driver!  smile.gif

I got to say don't buy the hybrid if that's your first car or first entry to Benz. Get a normal one to feel what an actual benz is.

Funny how I read about performance this performance that and the majority of drivers are stuck in traffic most of the time.
*
Well said, that's why I drive this hybrid more coz almost 365 days I'm stuck in the jam & I only go outstation like 2 or 3 times a year. When you are in the jam and you can't speed much in the city, even on a Sunday, I totally don't know what performance you are hoping for and what difference is it between C350e & C250 in terms of performance? Just same to me, in fact, I spend less than half of the petrol price a normal C250 pay. It's just a C class, the real Merce is beyond this class.

E Class EV and C350e AMG styling will launch around Sept/Oct 2017.

E350e has already been a while in Thailand. In Malaysia, the current C350e has two versions, avant-garde & AMG interior. Major different is the AMG int with panoramic roof. Look at the roof and you can tell.

This is my 4th month with C350e, my fc has further improved to 3.6l/100km! Looks like the 2+l/100km on paper is achievable if you have charging station at both point A & B. I may consider to subscribe to chargEV coz there are quite a few stations around my everyday place. So far, I've pumped three times of petrol only since the day 1 I had my car. Brilliant!

Agree! Been thinking Long. But the boot space is worrying. I need it to at least be able to fit some of my oversea client's luggage bag. And my children's stuff lol. My budget had jumped from c200 all the way up. Must be mbm's strategy
*
Yes, it is a problem if the stuff is tall. But think positively, fold down your back seats and you can fit in a bicycle/surf board. GLC 250 can't do that too. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Samyck @ Aug 2 2017, 09:08 PM)
actually i consider c350e not bcoz of the fuel consumption or the pure electric range. i am more attracted by the combined hp and torque. therefore, i would always keep it in s+ mode and when battery drain out then i will go for echarge mode. good thing about c350e is you could charge up to 90% on the road. then i could use it again. perhaps many ppl got misleaded by 31km electric mode which is based on purely electric drive and dead engine driving range. but for me, i will never leave it on e mode. i would rather hybrid or sport + or echarge. however i do agree that dragging 300kgs battery on the road is not a brilliant idea and i do felt upset about losing of boot space. well, nothing perfect. thats just my 2 cents.😁 have a good one bro. making a decision on cars is painful process. 😊😊
*
U need to use e-mode for short distance to achieve good FC. I use e-mode all the time when the distance is short enough for return. I rarely use e-save, unless there's a smooth traffic and a long way say from puchong to kepong. Again, i have said this many times, I really don't feel the battery weight. If you are driving in S mode most of the time, more reason that battery weight shouldn't be a burden at all, don't you think the car cruises effortlessly and powerful in S mode?

I think to challenge ourselves to get a better FC record is a fun thing to do with such car. I always think of ways to improve it for my own record. I hope one day I can achieve less than 3l/100km.

Oh it does? Well, but then it is a SUV (as Benz claims). If space is too important to you then don't take the C350e, u will get annoyed easily. The car can only fit in one large & one medium suit case that's it.

Yea sad.gif due to the c250 long wait. C350e is now the only option. And the back space is indeed worrying. No doubt Electric mode is really attractive
*
Hmm, I would say this car is very contemporary and it takes some effort to adapt to it and to appreciate it. It is not as "convenient" as you think. Eg, r you ok to charge your car at least once a day? Will you get "agitated" when you see the battery is draining that fast when driving? Another thing, I noticed the % of charging is affected by weather. If the weather is hot, you get 1,2km less.

I mentioned this before here that to buy this C350e, you have to make sure the car fits into your daily routine and your lifestyle. Don't buy it if you require your car to go long miles and you need to use it frequently. Your FC should end up 7-8l/100km range.

For me, I use the car to work and home thats all. I go gym and do my grocery nearby with it. I also have some chargEV stations around my work place which could be handy to me in future. That's y I dare to get it and to try. The tech still needs a long way to go. Buy it when it gives you 100km per charge.

I bought E200 & C350e same time. In the end, I drive C350e more. I kinda regret to buy the E200 now becoz it's lack of too many features. The biggest let down is the parking system, too out dated, not like C350e with 360 degree 3D view. Many times I parked my car badly becoz I couldn't see the line well, the car is too tall and big (luckily there's auto park) Maybe I am destined to drive smaller car biggrin.gif

It is very comfy, especially when you are crushing on smooth traffic. Handling wise, C class is better.

Wanted to book the glc 250 coupe today and cancel my c250 booking that I made in April. Then the SA called me and are able to get me my c250 in 2 weeks time biggrin.gif

C250 definitely a better choice than GLC250. The GLC seats r just too awful to me. C class's comfy beats GLC hands down.
