I drink alkaline water directly (without boiling) from my Panasonic TK-AS40 for more than 3 years, I replace the filter cartridge with TK-AS45C1 (Removes 13+4 Substances), instead of the TK-AS40's recommended filter cartridge TK7505C1 (Removes 5 Substances).

Have been using it for 3+ years, so far so good.

The replacement cartridge cost about RM330 for the TK7505C1 (Removes 5 Substances), RM450 for the  TK-AS45C1 (Removes 13+4 Substances). Get it from PanaShop or buy it during Aeon Jaya Jusco sale...a bit cheaper.

Btw, the cartridge can last for 12,000 liters and recommended to replace yearly. If your family drink 30 liters of water a day = 900 liters a month = 10,800 liters a year, it should last you slightly more than a year, small family drink less water.. may last more than 1.5 to 2 years
