There are so many different brands out there, all can produce alkaline water. Price range different too. I am always confused, from RM 3k+ to RM 12k, you can get alkaline water. So what is the difference between the RM 3k type and the more expensive type?

Recently came across those really expensive one, Kangen water, RM 12k. From what I understand it can generate really high ph level alkaline water, ph 11 or something like that. Then a friend of mine introduced me to VWA, said it can generate even MORE higher ph level, ph 12! and the price is cheaper ....According to her why Kangen is expensive because it is MLM.

Why do we need such high ph level alkaline water? What is the difference between VWA and Kangen?

Any thoughts?

You already said those are the MLM product.

BTW, do you really need that high PH alkaline water?

Just get the Panasonic. More trust brand and no ripoff price.

I actually got eczema problem and some info in the website claim that alkaline water can cure it. Installed a rubine alkaline machine (got it free from my supplier) at home for 6 months but no improvement. My mom had diarrhea after drinking it, salesman says it is good as it is helping to detox and ask her to try lower PH level for stomach to get use to it. After doing some research online, most alkaline machine only provide one membrane cartridge filter which is 0.1 micron. Just a 0.1 micron membrane filter is not sufficient to filter off all the contaminants, even RO water which is the purest water with 0.0001 micron need to be used together with a carbon block filter. So, how clean is the alkaline water ? ? ?

Copied from
http://www.waterbenefitshealth.com/reverse...osis-water.html

"While reverse osmosis is effective for removing a variety of contaminants in water, the reverse osmosis membrane alone does NOT remove volatile organic chemical (VOCs), chlorine and chloramines, pharmaceuticals, and a host of other synthetic chemicals found in municipal water.

However, some R.O. systems now have multi-stage filtration media (in addition to the R.O. membrane), such as Activated Carbon, which does remove chlorine and certain pesticides."

There are still debates on alkaline water is good and some say no good, there is no 100% conclusion and as mention it is still a myth. I tried and it doesnt improve my family's health bt instead mom got diarrhea. Grandma drank alkaline water without boiling will cough but she drinks Aquaphor water without boiling, no problem...

From another website mentioned there are two types of alkaline water, ionized alkaline water which is from the alkaline machine and natural alkaline water (mineral water). Natural minerals in our water is alkaline, when water picks up more mineral the higher the pH level, hence more alkaline. So, drinking water with high pH means your water has a lot of good minerals in it and it is good for our body. However, the ionized alkaline water produced by alkaline machine does not add in minerals to it and our body will automatically regulate the pH level by producing more acid to neutralize the alkaline water, so i guess there wont be any health benefit to it.

From my experience, most important is to drink more CLEAN water as we wont know how the little contaminants in our water could affect us in the future, it might not be harmful now but after 5 years or more you might only start to see the side effect. Unless you have some kinda of sickness or skin problem like me, you can give it a try.

Well, higher price alkaline machine will explain that the price difference is because of the platinum or titanium plate which are very expensive. From what i know, if you purchased a Kangan, you can already start business by introducing friends to buy and get commission 1k-2k. A salesperson actually approached me and offer me commission about 2k+ if i were to sell kangen or get a customer to buy from him.

Some machine can produce high PH level like 12 but the recommended drinking PH level by these alkaline machine is 9.5, so whatz the point of having higher PH level?

I've to concur with zheilwane on this. In fact rain water is much better. Go along Fraser's before Sg Selangor dam and Hulu Langat after rain at 4-5am in the morning and see the line of cars with their boots loaded with containers to takung air bukit. Ask the ppl who take them why they do what they do. You'd be surprised or shocked to learn what they have been practicing for years. The diseases they cured apparently just by drinking rain water filtered by the hill's soil structure. And many of them cannot afford recurring medical cost, don't see an end to their medical condition and cannot tahan the constant hassle of seeing a doctor in public clinics or hospitals. Btw, for main argument aside, I always believe chlorine is required until filtered out at point of use. 0.01 micron Membrane is best. KDF+ carbon shower filter for bathing and brushing teeth and RO or distilled water for drinking. For washing vege, fruits and rice, get Paragon KDF and combine with Activated carbon. That would remove heavy metal, chlorine and KDF naturally is bacteriostatic.

I also plan to install a outdoor filter. Most membrane now can filter up to 0.01 micron right? So i guess clean water is not a problem ...

Exactly. I think I asked one of the sales person before about this. Why do we need higher PH level since the recommended one is 9.5? The sales guy said, when we eat more acidic food, it will lower down the water maybe from PH 9.5 to PH 7. So the water is no longer alkaline. But if we drink PH 12, chances of it turning to neutral is lesser.. that's the answer he gave me.. cool2.gif

So true about the rain/forest/natural water. Unfortunately in the city, especially in KL, our water is so so so so so dirty soleft us no choice but to get a good filter to filter out all the dirty stuff ...
