which channel u watched the match ? well if its Astro, u can forget abt watching it at the 1st place. I would recommend u to try out some foreign channels if u hav the chance.

Serie A matches on Astro, even those like Roma vs Lazio or AC vs Inter, sux big time. What kind of bloody stupid commentating is that. shakehead.gif

i guess this is the problem that cause i'm watching less Serie A matches. i'm not clearly hear the crowd chant n the commentators makes me sleepy. sweat.gif
the defensive tactics, hurm.. u could nvr know when n where the goalS will come. it's so sudden.
if talk about quality of goals, i think Serie A goals in par with any famous league in this world. i watch Totti goal last season over n over again.(the chipped goal)

marketing wise, of coz EPL wil b far more easier. EPL = English, Serie A = Italian, La Liga = Spanish.

now how many for those in Asia know Italian or Spanish, compare to those who know English ?

i dont really think so... not that they not attacking, juz that they do not seem to hav the luck for goals this year.  laugh.gif

ahaha.. maybe one of the factor is the commentator but its still lack of match quality.. i still prefer blackburn matches instead of messina's.. tongue.gif

I think that's because of the firecrackers tongue.gif

Anyways..
I think the statement "Serie A is too defensive...bla bla bla" is an unfair misconception. The big teams like Inter, Roma, Milan are attack-minded so to speak but they are also tactically clever so they don't over commit players. Technically man for man, the players in Serie A and La Liga are better than in the EPL. And i think 1 of the reasons why it's perceived as too defensive is because of the tactical nature of the football played. It's the same reason why Chelsea are perceived as boring when they are in fact a good attacking side. Also the pace of the EPL is faster compared to Serie A and La Liga and ppl can perceive that as "excitement". In a nutshell, Italians prefer the tactical battle, the English prefer raw pace and passion and the Spanish favor technical ability above all else. Hope that wasn't too long... happy.gif

Serie A is only boring when the home team's fans gets too overwhelming that they mentally freaked out the visiting team till there's no attacking sequence and it became a one-sided match. Just like those firecracker/flare throwing actions.

IS Serie A boring?

The answer is yes if u define football as "to kick the ball long enuff to find a man forward who can make something out of it. And everybody will run as fast as they can just to outrun the opponent and try to get a goal."

The answer is No, if you define football as " to Win a match, and the way of winning a football match is to have at least one more goal than the opponent team."

well to be honest, it's unfair to say that Serie A or any other football league as boring. EPL seems to be very attractive just because of the marketing and branding. one good example is the camera view, commentators and sound level.
Lets say if Serie A's marketing as good as EPL... huh?

Italians are known for their tactical approach of a game, not just being pacy and run at the ball all the time. They dont just use foot in football, but brain as well.

FORZA SERIE A!
FORZA SERIE B!
FORZA SERIE C1!
FORZA AZZURI!

Actually Seria A games r quite interesting but bcuz of da lack of excitement from da commentary and the poor audio effect of Seria A games it made it as if da games r played in a dull manner..Seria A hav alot of good teams if u really look into it..Teams such as Juve,Inter,AC and Roma to name da few implies tat Seria A is one of if not da best league in da world..It used to be da place wher al da top players wanna go..Zidane become world-known bcuz of Seria A anyways..If we were to understand Italian language sure we'l noe how passionate each games is...But sumhow in certain games they do play too defensive n so tat's y most ppl brand them as playing "boring" football.. thumbup.gif

Most of da ppl in Asia likes EPL due to da matter tat it's televised everywhere..Sure u can say tat they hav da advertisin and branding power but i think its popular in Asia mainly bcuz its commentated in Eng(wher da language barrier is not so significant) and they play straight-forward football...The most important thing in football is to always entertain n excite da audiences n fans who r watchin da game-which MU owez do!! tongue.gif ...

Everyone hav their own cup of tea..Its up to oneself and not anybody else to determine wat kind of football they like or love to watch...So its not 'nice' to say tat Seria A games r boring..Da biggest problem has owez been da lack of excitement shown by da commentator of Seria A games(da commentator who speaks in Eng ofcuz)..N not to forget da v v poor quality of sound wher we can hardly hear da fans' chants..

Let us all support football and not make a fuss about which or who is da better one.. icon_rolleyes.gif

Wah... ready to get flame by the Serie A fans, kid. Is European Champion League "big" enough to be a major European cup ?? If yes, look at this,

http://www.uefa.com/competitions/ucl/history/index.html

FYI, Serie A is even called as "mini World Cup" for their quality and ofc, wages. If I were you, I'll delete that post before get flamed to dead.

Back to the topic, IMHO, EPL is more popular in Asia, comparing to the rest of the leagues is mainly because of their marketing strategy. Commentator play a major role, it make ppl (like me) get excited when watching the match. The commentator start to shout the striker name even if the striker only just got the ball and looks like want to shoot. Too exaggerated, but hey, that's how you attract people. But Seria A and La Liga, even a striker score, the dull and robotic voice of the commentator, "It's a goal..." sweat.gif For I the first one not going to feel excited by those comment.

But in terms of quality football, Serie A's teams still a forces to be reckoned with. I even sometimes think they are better than EPL.
