GTX 1060 doesnt cost that much .
You also say 1060m is to replace 960m not 970m . So the price should stay .

Actually no one said what is replacing who. Those are things that we came up on our own. Everyone's saying that cause of the xx60, 70, 80 model but this is a whole new architecture. Also if you're saying the 1060 is replacing the 970m, why is it the price has to drop down to the 960m?

Maybe you don't realise this but the mobile GPU and the 1060 for laptop is totally in a different class. The 1060 you get in the laptop is only slightly weaker than the desktop counterpart. If you're expecting prices to remain stale with new technology being introduced, you're going to have to wait for a long long time before it reaches affordable prices. Enthusiast level gaming laptops have never been cheap. It's not going to change now.

GTX1060 is the next gen. replacement card for GTX970M, not GTX960M.

OEM cost for GTX1060 is even higher than GTX970M.

The laptop GPU classes have been reorganised with the 10 series, you guys have to understand that. So we should expect gtx1060 laptop to be similar in price to 970m laptops, which it clearly is, considering our weak currency too.

I Guess gt62vr doesn't support Optimus since it has a gsync screen....battery is gonna suffer.....might stay put with my laptop then...unless Asus creates something interesting....

IMO, if the laptop cost so high, better buy those laptop that support usb 3.1 and use external GPU (razer core)
