QUOTE(shirogawawa @ Mar 9 2016, 01:01 PM) under stress test It was a nice surprise that 60 minutes later (30 mins CPU + 60 minutes CPU/GPU load), the processor was still running at 78-81°C, / 2.8GHz and the GPU – 69°C, (and 540MHz/2500MHz clock speeds). Why is the GPU clock speed so low under stress test though? A 960M should be able to achieve much higher than that.

QUOTE(shirogawawa @ Mar 9 2016, 03:11 PM) accoring to the spec from nvidia , The GTX 960M offers 640 shader units clocked at 1097 - 1202 MHz (Boost) GeForce GTX 960M 640 @ 1029 - 1097 (Boost) MHz how fast you want ? I meant for the GPU clock speed, it's only running at 540MHz/2500MHz. Isn't the 540Mhz the one that hits 1097 ~ 1202?

QUOTE(one punch man @ Aug 12 2016, 01:29 PM) Lol..in less than a year my 960m laptop got thrashed 2.5x times by 1060m....feel like crying. Maybe should sell off my 7559 now right The 960m wasn't a very good card to begin with. It is only average when compared to all the current mobile cards and near low tier when compared with the desktop equivalents. Still it's good enough for most modern games if you can live with lower graphics quality. I use an 860m, still able to play Doom with full 60fps at 1680x1050 with med graphics and AA set to the lowest. You pay for what you get I guess. If you're going to sell it off, better do it before the 1060 starts retailing commercially.

QUOTE(dead_psycho @ Aug 16 2016, 09:08 AM) Whats the estimate price for this new models? No point waiting also if they are too expensive like 5k above for me I think it's definitely going to be above 5k for the 1070 and 1080 gpus. For the 1060 it's kind of difficult to judge at the moment as the predecessor, the 960m was relatively affordable, though shirogawawa says there is one coming for 7k and he's rarely wrong about the prices. The 970m and 980m costs significantly more than the 960m even now. You can't get a 970m laptop for less than 5k at the moment.

QUOTE(myway1985 @ Aug 16 2016, 10:03 AM) price out de lo... but we cant announce until tomolo wat i can say is 1060 price equal to 970m laptop price n above the 1060 is a major leap in performance from the 960m. I'm not surprised it is priced that way.

QUOTE(Prince J @ Aug 17 2016, 10:35 AM) GTX1060 is a card to replace GTX970M 6GB GDDR5. GTX1050 is the one replacing GTX960M for entry-level gaming market, which will be available end this year or early next year. Though I think the price for a 1060 is kind of justified. It may be a replacement for a 960m but the 1060 outperforms the 970m by a large margin and in some cases it is even better than a 980m. The price of 980m laptops now is still around 7-9k. Pretty worth it getting the 1060 if you ask me. http://www.notebookcheck.net/Nvidia-Pascal...0.171566.0.htmlI'm pretty impressed nVidia closed the gap so quickly.

QUOTE(swn525 @ Aug 17 2016, 12:19 PM) totally agree, 1060m is replace 970m, but the price should remain as 960m Actually no one said what is replacing who. Those are things that we came up on our own. Everyone's saying that cause of the xx60, 70, 80 model but this is a whole new architecture. Also if you're saying the 1060 is replacing the 970m, why is it the price has to drop down to the 960m? Maybe you don't realise this but the mobile GPU and the 1060 for laptop is totally in a different class. The 1060 you get in the laptop is only slightly weaker than the desktop counterpart. If you're expecting prices to remain stale with new technology being introduced, you're going to have to wait for a long long time before it reaches affordable prices. Enthusiast level gaming laptops have never been cheap. It's not going to change now.

The options available for laptops with the thunderbolt port is kind of limited at the moment. http://www.ultrabookreview.com/10579-laptops-thunderbolt-3/Most of them are also part of gaming laptops, which already cost so much, its probably going to be the same as buying a laptop with a 1050/1060 in it.

QUOTE(-_- @ Aug 26 2016, 07:43 AM) Wow I want to ask this means you did not open your computer to access the wireless device. Just use pcmcia card? i see in YouTube you got to disable the other driver to work looks scary haha I think this is only applicable if you have an old laptop, maybe dating back 4 to 5 years or more. Newer laptops no longer come with the express card slot.

QUOTE(lolzcalvin @ Sep 9 2016, 03:53 PM) My kidney almost went failure after looking at thoooose prices Bawa bertendang bro. There is a GTX 1050 for the laptop coming out soon. That should be more in line with the prices we're used to for 960M or 970M laptops (hopefully). From preliminary reviews its somewhere a bit better than the 970M.

QUOTE(ks1230 @ Oct 4 2016, 01:29 PM) Dell Launches Refreshed Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming Laptop, Powered by Nvidia GeForce GTX960 As the entry level model in Dell’s gaming lineup, the Inspiron 7000 Gaming is understandably modest in hardware. All configurations feature an Nvidia GeForce 960M GPU, with the base model powered by a 6th-generation Intel Core i5 processor 4GB of DDR3L RAM, a 1TB 5400rpm hard drive, and a 15.6-inch Full HD display. The new Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming laptop will be available from November, with the base model starting from RM3,499. Source from Lowyat.net Everything in it is last gen technology though.

QUOTE(NicJolin @ Oct 4 2016, 03:12 PM) hmm no 7th gen processor? does that means we wont be getting the new inspiron with 1050 or 1050Ti for a very long time ? 1050's might be a while more. Until now the information about it is all rumored only. If it were true, maybe the first laptop we will see with 1050 in it will be early next year.

QUOTE(budakbharu @ Oct 10 2016, 11:04 AM) how much powerful is the expected performance of 1040 compared to gtx 960m? The rumoured 1050ti is supposed to be equivalent to a 970M so it should be safe to say, if there were a 1040 that it will be somewhere between the 960M and 950M. Have to wait for it to be announced though if you're going down that path, why not just get a 960M instead? The pascal chips are not going to be cheaper than a 960M even if they offered the same level of performance.

http://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-gtx-105...specs-official/1050/1050ti confirmed. Looks like on the desktop side, its equivalent to the 750/750ti series. With those specs, it's performance on the mobile space will be quite similar to the 960m. Kinda hoped it would touch closer to the 970m.

The 1050Ti reviews have been flooding in. It looks like the 1050Ti has very similar performance to the GTX 960 desktop model and slightly better performance than the 970M.
I think those waiting for it might be happy to be getting something close to the 970M. Judging from how little performance drop off the mobile chips have now, I think the performance will be exactly like the 970M.
Now here's to hoping they're affordably priced.

QUOTE(Kyozen @ Oct 27 2016, 10:22 AM) If 1050ti releases, 1060 price will drop? Probably not. The 1050ti is in a different league from the 1060 3/6GB. Maybe they will open a new market segment? The ideal price will be putting it at the same price of the current 960M.

QUOTE(obs5279 @ Jan 18 2017, 09:12 AM) How much different in game fps if compare 1050ti vs 1060 3gb? Little or huge? Huge. You can go to youtube to search for comparison videos of the 1050ti and 1060 3GB. The results of the comparison is similar to comparing the 1050Ti to a 1060 6GB. The 1060 outclasses the 1050Ti in every way. QUOTE(projectnew @ Jan 18 2017, 09:35 AM) Grab or not grab guys advice me naaaaaw loool scared la Which one?
