Hi all sifus and gurus here,

Has anyone been experiencing super slow downloads or updates from app store?

I have googled around and mostly users just reset router, restart phone, hard reset phone or change the DNS.

Is there any real fix for this issue? As long as when we are connected to wifi, it takes ages just for a download or update process. It used to be super fast and now, a 10mb app takes 15 to 20 minutes.

Currently using iphone 6 running on 9.0.2. However, this issue doesn't happen after ios9. In fact, even in the previous ios it happens.

Hope all the sifus and gurus out there can help. It is indeed FRUSTRATING.

how will u feel if you are using 30mbps but still slow like shit? hahaha. Im suffering too. found out it has been from August.

Yeap. Really frustrating. No point using 30mbps if the app store download speed are so slow.

I also went to Apple Discussion site and it seems that a lot people are experiencing this too.

Same here, sometimes very slow but sometimes are ok

20mb app update took me half an hour lol

anyway, did call unifi regarding this issues. they said they did experience this and have resolved it. though they didnt that this issue would resurface. had to be at home to troubleshoot.

yeah me too, slow on screamyx but phone data usage to download no issue...

Faced the same issue when updating to El Capitan.

Quick solution: Use a VPN. Problem solved.

Google is your friend. There are a lot of VPN providers who let you try their service for free (for a limited time).

Too bad I must have used up my allocation for the month as I am unable to connect to the service today...

1GB tends to finish very fast looking at the size of the apps update. Nevertheless, sounds so cool having the connectivity in the car.

May I know what is your internet speed? The reason of slow internet speed should be due to someone in your household downloading or watching videos.

I am on VIP 10 and yesterday i did a speed test and the speed is 8+ mbps. On another note, speed is fine while using youtube or any other things. Only when using the app store it is very slow.

So till now it is still slow or it's already solved?

nope.. still not ok for me.. i called TM recently and before the operator spoke to me, the recordings said dunno what apple store downloads slow.. mainly pages from the US are affected.. is it true??

I have problems downloading updates from App Store, too. Massively slow downloads, and due to this, it restarts almost every half of the way.

Not the case for sure!! I have two homes , one with Unifi VIP5 and one with Times basic place, Unifi update in Apps Store slow like Sh*t while times flying like rocket , it must be Unifi problem! But they use all kinds of excuses!!

I solve this problem buy downloading Hotspot Shield VPN, connect to that vpn then just download an update or any software for apps store without any problems

I found out that sometimes throughout the day this problem is gone, so I grab the chance to update the apps. I know this is not the solution, but so far this is my best take.

based on this ongoing THREAD, here are a few things you guys can do for the time being while they 'investigate'

1. change your DNS (8.8.8.8 or any other)
2. use VPN
3. use mobile data (3G or 4G/LTE)
4. use other ISP (Maxis Fibre, YES 4G, etc)
5. download during these times; 3am-10am and 3pm-6pm. these are the time slots that some forumers and i have determined to have normal speeds, especially the morning window.

note that sometimes downloading is a lot faster than updating, and vice versa. so if the update is slow, you guys may try deleting the app and downloading from scratch again. if you guys have any other suggestion or want to report/update your situation, i suggest posting in this THREAD as some post may help you guys and your posts in that thread can generate enough attention for other users.

yes. i noticed my updates and downloads were at normal speed especially in the mornings. tested on few updates already. i called tm once again and they said they are still working on it.

guess this will be the temporary solution for the moment..

Problem still persists. Had to wait till 3:05 in the morning, to access my normal download speed. 1gb in less than 6 minutes

I think when the Americans wake up, Apple servers become slow. No?

This problem started recurring for me especially with Unifi.

App store downloads still ok using TIME's network.

Didn't TM say their service is down? Posted on lowyat.net too. Access to most NA servers and websites are either too slow or inaccessible.

Their servers are in Singapore and the issue doesn't affect TIME

Server in SG doesn't mean you're always connected to the servers I SG. Sometimes you get switched out to some other servers. Time piggybacking TM's fiberwires? No right? I'm not too sure.. All I know it's a TM issue. I play on SG servers on csgo and I'm getting 500-800ping lol

Ouch that is quite a crappy ping! But I am still getting less than 50 ping and even so I am quite surprised its that high.

There's unifi in my area. But it just doesn't get to my house 😑 other than that I'm running 4megs haha

Few days ago it was quite slow. Heard that time something wrong with the underwater cable.. Now its ok for me..
