can. in fact the minimum requirement is 1gb ram for 32bit and 2gb ram for 64 bit. If you wish to run games or applications that are ram hungry you need more ram. if it is just normal usage no problem.

Now i use w7 with 4gb ram. Something, my machine become laggy with 80% ram usage. Maybe, need to upgrade ram before upgrade to w10 |

Lag or not depends on how you use.
Are you browsing with a few tabs? or are you the type that runs 20+ tabs all loading videos, scripts and ads? And with other hoggers in the background? |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Oct 17 2015, 10:28 PM) Lag or not depends on how you use. Usually max 10 tabs simultaneously. With compiler, database program, java and other services. My ram usage can go up to 80%. Sometime it can be quiet laggy. Afraid it can be worst if upgrade to w10.Are you browsing with a few tabs? or are you the type that runs 20+ tabs all loading videos, scripts and ads? And with other hoggers in the background? |

I have machines running Windows 7, 8 and 10.
From my experience Windows 8 and 10 will have better memory management than Windows 7, of which even with 16GB RAM I face memory shortage issue. |

win10 > win8.1 > win8 > win7
win10 and win8.1 not very much performance improve but still i do notice it still better in some degree. and ts your pc no problem, can win10. but i want to remind you, the best option is to clean install windows. windows install from "upgrade windows" no matter from ? version to ? version of windows are always the same, lag and slow, defragment can't help much. QUOTE(rzl.j @ Oct 18 2015, 09:08 AM) My HTPC has a Pentium E5200 (A dual core CPU back in 2008) with 4GB RAM runs Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (upgraded from Win 7 Pro) without any issues. Even Full HD videos worked just fine. Note that the system requirements of Windows 10 are relatively unchanged from Vista. If your machine can run Vista/7 comfortably then you should be able to run 10 without much problems (though drivers would be another problem and is often out of Microsoft's control). |

I have upgraded several machines to 10 without a clean install and none of them are experiencing performance issues. unless the windows before upgrade are very well optimized.but most of user don't know how to optimize their windows. if ts are tech guy then he wouldn't open this thread, since he open this thread mean he's not a tech guy. so I assume his windows are not optimized one. |

QUOTE(salimbest83 @ Oct 18 2015, 11:32 AM) Nope, just no, i can list down the problem i've encountered when using Windows 10 Microsoft still need time to fix the OS, just like when Windows 8 was out, the OS is like "OKay to use" only, not really that good compare to fully patched Win7/8. |
