Never deal with customer service before. At least you found the best one for yourself.

There’s actually no “best” one. There’s only the “best one for you”. smile.gif

I was thinking to buy ipx in Jan. But after read in this forum, seems like almost store out of stock
*
Well, it’s possible that stocks would be available by end January or so, or you could leave your contact at the centre closest to you and get them to call you when stocks arrive.

sure. you got it edi or still waiting for them to have stock?

Anyway, how come some Maxis centre got stocks.. and none of us stumbled upon any stocks at Digi side when we checked? doh.gif
*
I'm on the fence with the X. May go back to the 8 Plus but we'll see. Actually I have two lines with maxis now and was thinking of porting one over to DiGi for the X but I don't wanna do it online, so if they don't have stocks then I'll keep my maxis lines smile.gif

Yeah, maxis seems to have stocks for 64GB but 256GB seems to be sold out.

so you still waiting or edi took action?
I see. So you are waiting for Digi staff's phone call?

So far my order, my delivery still N/A sweat.gif
Shall I call to Digi to ask? hmm.gif
*
No, I didn't leave my name or anything. If I happen to walk by a DiGi centre and they have stock then I might go for it, otherwise I'd be happy to stick to my existing arrangement (and thus very high chance that won't change, ha ha).

As it is the weekend and now and their back end staff are possibly not working, I would say give it 2-3 working days and if nothing changes, then you should give them a call.

Looking at the posts here. Can i assume that if you buy online you’ll get the phone within a week? Best bet than going to the outlets hoping that they’ll have stocks.
*
Yeah, that seems to be the case for most. Some people just prefer the buying experience at a brick and mortar shop though.

QUOTE(maserati @ Jan 3 2018, 10:17 PM)
Wow tried my luck at 3 Digi stores these couple of days for the 256gb iPhone x and not one single positive experience.

1) 1U - only 64gb in stock. For such a big mall, I'd expect your branch there to be better stocked for potentially bigger customer demands. I asked them about Digi's accessories offer but they said no offers available at the moment. Digi's website was advertising stuff like 2 x Targus lightning cables for RM65, muvit cases & accessories for 30% off, etc. Oh well.

2) Gardens - Staff there couldn't really be bothered. No sense of customer service at all. Their stupid system of asking their staff for a queue number SMS just doesn't work. And apparently you can only ask one of their staff for this SMS. Which staff to ask for one? Well you'll have to try your luck and get one of their other staff to tell you. When you do manage to speak to someone, don't expect them to be friendly or polite.

To top it off, I had to find the instructions to get someone to talk to me on a sign in the middle of their wall, sandwiched between all their other advertisements and merchandise. Today's a weekday. Imagine going there on weekends. My advice, just don't.

3) BSC - I got my last two contract phones from Digi at this branch. Absolutely best customer experience among all their branches and employees there have always been friendly, accurate and helpful. I left Gardens and reached BSC at 8.50. Reached the Digi store at 9 to see the staff leaving the shop and locking up. Goodness, even the celcom branch next to them was still open!!! Can't blame them though, Google seems to tell me their official closing time is at 9. Just disappointing to see them close so much earlier than everyone else and in a mall at that.

Guess Digi is helping me save money. They're telling me the ipx is not for me haha. Even their website has gone down for hours now. Not that it has been any stable at all on other days.

Digi, Digi. Going from bad to worse to complete shit. Apa la nak jadi.

I can attest to the Gardens experience. They really don’t have any sense of prioritizing customers or potential customers, ha ha. I know the 1U one is just a dealer, right, and not a DiGi center? That’s probably why they have different promotions (or lack of it).

Yea I'm always in PJ too. Ever since I moved to my new place a couple of years back, maxis coverage has been absolutely atrocious. And back in my hometown, only Digi has good LTE coverage inside my house. I was practically forced to port to Digi after being Maxis' customer for so many many years.
I'm not really sure about that though. I remember asking before and was told they're a Digi center. Again, I could be wrong. It's just what I was told by the staff.
*
Yeah, they're not, they're just a dealer. I checked at DiGi's website, though the one at BSC is a DiGi center. Anyways, I'm exploring the possibility of converting my second line to them to test if they've improved over the years (the last time I used DiGi was during the days of the iPhone 4, ha ha)...

We're just unlucky we have weak regulators in this country. Operators and their staff here behave like they're God's gift to their customers and we should be thankful to them for allowing us to pay obscene prices for their products and services.
*
Yeah, exactly that. The consumer protection laws here are a joke, which is why corporations behave like they do.

hi, i would like to ask after place the reservation for iphone X, did the digi called you guys if there is stock ready for you? or have go and ask them, even after placing reservation? i placed my reservation on 5th Dec 17, until now also no news/sms/call from digi. lol..
*
Bro, if there’s a take away from the past few posts above, it’s that you shouldn’t hold your breath and hope that they will call you back. You’d have more chance of success going to their shops every once in a while to ask.

Just walked in to OneUtama DiGi, still no stock. This weekend try to go ss2/bukit bintang DiGi see have any chances or not. hehe. I reserve for 64Gb only. But don't mind getting 256 if there is ready stock. haha.
*
Try going to a DiGi centre instead of a dealer, maybe better luck there. SS2, Gardens, BSC among others.

Nice. Congrats. 64 or 256?

I'll probably be dropping by the bsc branch on Monday. Hopefully they'll be stocked. Anyone has their number?
*
Phone number not stated in their website though sad.gif

Could you do me a favor bro? Could you ask them why is there a need to pay GST on advance payment? I mean the advance payment is like a deposit that will eventually be used to offset the monthly bills which include GST right? Doesn’t that mean we get charged for GST twice?

Or perhaps anyone else here knows the answer? I noticed it’s the same for every telco hmm.gif

Sure thing bro. But your monthly bill amount will be your subscription - the advanced payment right? So the GST will only be charged on the balance and not your entire monthly subscription. I guess that's why you're required to pay GST on the advanced payment "in advance".
*
I mean let’s say I take the iPhone X 64GB on the 78 plan. Total price I would have to pay is

Device - 3895
Advance - 78
Upfront - 530

Total upon checking out would be 4503 + 6% = 4773.18, which means I would have paid

Device - 4128.70 (3895+233.70)
Pre-payment - 644.48 (608+36.48)

And if I’m not mistaken, DiGi will credit back only 608 into my account, and every month when I get billed, it will be 78 + GST, so doesn’t that mean I’m getting taxed twice? Or is that the way it is? Just wondering coz obviously numbers and taxes just aren’t my strong suites biggrin.gif

Actually this is not what I understand from their explanation.

Your advanced payment of 530 will be credited back to you over 24months so roughly 22 per month. Your monthly bill will thus become 78-22 = 56 and the gst charged on your bill will be for this amount. This is why they charge you gst on your rm530 advanced payment first.

Ah, OK. If that is the case, then it’s OK. smile.gif
