To cover the museum is not that long like what brother biatch0 stated. But the walk there..  Damn it feels like eternity. I walked from Asakusa lolz cause I used the JR line as much as possible. The walk was ok though cause it's along the sumida river.

The guided tour doesn't take very long... max of 45 minutes maybe? You might spend time after the tour finishes to walk around and look more closely at the exhibits though... I guess about 1.5 hours would be a comfortable amount of time to cover everything.

I took the bus from Nippori (Yamanote from Shinjuku)... thought about walking but decided not to since I had already done more than enough walking in Tokyo and figured wheels where possible was a better choice.

Hi fellow Seiko sifus, really new to the scene but recently fell in love with the Seiko 5 SNKE01K1.

May I have your comments on the model and where do you guys normally purchase?

Hi guys, I'm playing with the idea of getting a Sumo.
Maybe in a couple of months.
I know some of you here already owned a Sumo before (Everdying? r3kahsttub?), can you comment on it a bit?

Is the case too big for 7" wrist?
Is the strap width too small for that case?
Does the gap between the lugholes(strap) and case annoys you?
And please include any other comments!

Thanks in advance!

I've a 6.5" wrist, still can carry it well. To be honest 20mm looks weird with nato but on bracelet looks okay and quite comfy to wear hehe

Can elaborate more on the gap between lugholes? Didn't really get it.

Anyway ending this post with drillz tongue.gif

You should be able to wear the Sumo very nicely on a 7" wrist. Mine is 6.9" (and quite flat), so I rarely have problems with bigger watches (although anything under 39mm starts to look really small on me).

The only thing that I don't like about the Sumo are the 20mm lug width; too small for the hefty case, and certainly does not look good on NATO or even most leather straps. Best to leave it on bracelet (and even then, there are days when I have it strapped on and think its just too damn small!). Oh ya... not sure also what you mean by the gap between lughole and case (?), but then I've never had mine on strap, if that's what you meant.

At the end of the day, I like it (not love it), and it wears great most of the time.

What in the flying heck is with this double posting!?

Oh ya, I forgot to mention that I'm also not too pleased with the cartoony font on the bezel. If I could turn back time, I'd probably have gone for the Shogun. Plot twist: it was a birthday gift, so I probably would have a Sumo either way lol.

i sold off all my sumos...bored of them.
its not big, its not small, it doesn't balance that well on bracelet, even more unbalanced on nato...all cos the case is heavy.

the gap at lugs obviously of cos the long lugs la... but now someone is making curved end rubber straps just for sumo.

Lovely photos!
This is what i meant with the gap btw:

I tried it on earlier today. You guys are right, it does wear smaller. And it's really beautiful!! Even with the x there. But I'm still not sure on the bracelet width and lack of flexibility with straps. Hmmmmm.

Anyway, the shop offered me RM1.9K for it. What is the best place to buy in Japan? How much can I get it from there? My friend is going there for a business trip soon. I checked the price in skywatches and creationwatches, it's about the same at 1.9k.

And Shogun is more expensive right? Overbudget. tongue.gif

What's your solution to that then?
I mean, what's a better diver than a Sumo at that price range, in your opinion.
Don't tell me G-Shocks. 😛

ok i wont say gshock.
seeing prices of sumo now due to currency... say squale can?

btw, what makes one diver better than another?
cant say sumo got anything special in its price range over other homage divers... all also 200/300m...SEL...some even got advantage over by having swiss movements...some even wear more comfortable.
sumo only redeeming factor is its so called original design... which is a love hate thing.
then again there are micro brand divers which also have original designs...
perhaps 5-6yrs ago when sumo came out was a good time... but now the times are a changin... tongue.gif

well, imo sumo is not in seikos eyes already ... only the thai market is somehow keeping it alive with their fugly limited editions.
see even the padi editions its a turtle and kinetic diver gmt which im fond of calling it a blowfish...

plus like the guy above says... sumo for rm1.9k is wtf... must be the newer X series... far cry from old sumo being good value at rm1.3k or so...
even if currency stabilizes...X sumo probably will be priced around rm1.7k... wouldn't say excellent value anymore... as rm1k more can get old shogun...

How much are you planning to spend? Might want to have a look at the HydroConquest if you don't want a "Sub" tongue.gif

Anyway saw the new Diver Sixty Five, another diver with leather combo.
