it is worth every cents you spend if you felt happy after doing so. i am spending some cash on my old 478 rig because i felt very attach to it after serving me well for so many years.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « i just recieved this from http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/. it provided detail explaination of how to purchase from them. i going to purchase some stuff from them. even plus postage, some items are cheaper than purchase in malaysia. edited: PeowYong, are you sure that Ultra 120 can fit a 478? i sent a email to thermalright and they told me that it is not recommended to use. should go for ultra 90 or HR 01. btw you can purchase the retention bracket from internet like me This post has been edited by irangan: Dec 4 2006, 01:11 PM |

QUOTE(PeowYong @ Dec 4 2006, 05:09 PM) i wanna join ur bulk if can boss, i am not doing a bulk.. just some personal purchase for myself. i cant find HR 01 and 478 retention bracket in malaysia it shouldnt be a problem fitting in i think cant get the retention anyway... y did the thermalright ppl say not recommended?? becoz of its compatibility? it can be solved using the retention kit i think he didnt stated the reason for it. he just said 'Before doing so, you also need to purchase our P4-478 conversion kit and a metal back plate is highly recommended.' |

QUOTE(almostthere @ Dec 4 2006, 09:30 PM) Errrrr don't Ultra 120's fit only on LGA 775 using the standard retention bracket holes the mobo has? i think so after some reading in its website and online. but thread starter said that it can solve by using the 478 retention bracket. i thought that only applied on HR series and Ultra 90. |

Doom just pointed out one very important fact. Ultra 120 and Ultra 90 will place horizontal if use in Socket 478 because of the 478 retention bracket and it is not vertical placement like those we see in socket 775. according to Doom, this will damage your mobo if use in long run due to the unnatural way of placement and sheer weight of that heatsink.

PeowYong, i didnt noticed that your mobo retention bracket is different from mine. if i install any of those Ultra or HR series in my comp, the placing of my heatsink will different. sigh sigh....
sHawTY, using high end mobo also so ma fan, i should get those Asus mobo last time but got tempted by the 6 ram slot. sigh sigh... Ultra 120 too tall for my mobo |

errr... how hard is that? i always purchase T Shirt and so on from the net.. never face any problem except buying from E Bay.
QUOTE(sHawTY @ Dec 6 2006, 05:03 PM) If buying something from oversea is that easy, i would have gotten myself a Noctua NH-U 12 now... purchase from the australia site lo. not expensive And together with the Noctua Northbridge heatsink... This post has been edited by irangan: Dec 6 2006, 05:15 PM |

QUOTE(cablesguy @ Dec 6 2006, 07:01 PM) t shirts n stuff r ok, but if ur talking abt more delicate stuff like hs etc...arrive rosak wanna rma also tuff... if that is the case, you can always use those Global Express Mail (Priority Mail) or courier company like DHL and Fedex and requested them to stick a 'Fragile' logo on the box. should be no problem.. normally ppl use cheaper method like Airmail, cheaper way = cheaper services |
