there are 2 different rankings in the iDroid Mother Base menu :



Espg. Rank (Espionage Rank) - this is the rank which would change, based on your FOB infiltration exploits, normally showing numbers & the insignia.

PF Rank - this is the ranking for the virtual PF battles, the ones that are set weekly and you win/lose Offensive/Defensive virtual battles, based on the strength level of your staffs/motherbase/resources/vehicles/usage of Liquid Carbon Missiles or Anti-Ballistic Missiles.



from the PF battles, you earn points too, and eventually able to redeem soldiers/resources with those points (although the redemption bonuses aren't that lucrative as FOB Events).

Ya it PF rank, so those battle take place automatically? I would just use liquid or anti missile to increase my offensive or defensive.

wanna ask.. i am almost finishing my chapter 1 (31 missions) soon. in chapter 2, i know there are a lot of repeated missions with higher diffiulty.. i am not keen to play these..do i have an option to pick and choose which mission to play in chpater 2? I still want to compete the game but not playing those that i hv gone through in chapter 1

play 2-3 side mission and you will unlock the next 'important' mission

Storyline missions are a must, but those repeated missions (Extreme, Subsistence) aren't compulsory.
as dark_heart07 mentioned, some of the storyline missions are unlocked when you perform Important Side-ops (those highlighted in yellow).

once you know the trick to them, all of the subsistence missions are ridiculously easy.
You can probably rank those subsistence missions without much bother because(IINM) all have a short cut.
only the total stealth missions are a pain in the ass.

ahh thanks all ! i am a slow gamer, started this game since early jan til now, havent finished it yet lol... i am kinda stuck at 31 mission. the giant machine seems difficult to kill, i always die with the red laser beam T.T

a higher-level (Rank 6? i forgot) upgraded CGM 25 + higher-level battle dress is always your best friend to spam the Sahelanthropus (if you want to complete it fast).

Completed all main missions....without knowing I've completed them all lol. This game is so overrated in my opinion...maybe because there is a Hideo Kojima name on it. So repetitive.

i completed eli challenege (the side ops with yellow highlight).. but then i still cant proceed unless i repeat those difficult mission. wht shld i do? really not in the mood of doing same thing anymore.. as far as i know, there are no more yellow side ops available atm

do 2-3 more side ops (the one u still not done yet and yeah some mission are repetitive) and new main mission will unlock

no wonder there's a lot of ppl using female staff to do FOB..
their eyes are too cute with the balaclava on..

Fob worth playing? NY psn already discontinued and I tried playikg a few rounds with trial psn. Just wondering whether the online mode is worth playing or not

it'll eventually be repetitive in the end..

so for me, if you're not an OCD gamer,
not keen on sharpening your skills in infiltration..

it's probably not worth it.

suggestion : why don't you watch some FOB infiltration
gameplay on youtube, you might see what is going on.

- sneak into FOB.
- success : get staff + resources + nukes.
- not successful : get killed by enemy guards.
- not successful : get killed during PvP with defender.
- success : killed defender too many times, get espg. points.

- defend your FOB.
- success : killed enemy.
- unsuccessful : get killed gazillion times by infiltrator,
event recorded and shown in youtube for the world to see.

i'm only in it to get 4/4 FOB completion (no such need,
it's just that i'm a bit of an OCD, so.. there's that) &
just to rank up my units (also no such need, but i like it).

god demmit bound dragons..
now i really miss the skulls & mosquito easy FOB event.

i mission 11 sudah sangkut. feel give up to play this game hehe

Tiap2 hari saya rampas fuel resources dari FOB orang lain.

Coz too lazy go on side ops to infiltrate postguard and base to collect material resources.

At the meantime, I still havent bored played MGO3.
