oh... very sorry for that sifus...  sweat.gif
Simply to say...
2-way speaker will need a subwoofer to make the song perfect...

but, 3-way speaker is for those who don't have or plan any subwoofer for their setup... correct??
In this case... if I don't want to put woofer and amp yet want my system to sound... err... quite good arr... I should invest in a good Head Unit and a good 3-way speaker for the front of my car. No need for rear one rite???
Any sifu please help me clarify this... notworthy.gif

hie there, firstly u need to know the kind of speakers there are smile.gif .....current component setups are 2 type: 2 way and 3 way biggrin.gif .....2 way u can find a lot of them around, from cheaper and normal ones like BM boschmann or soundstream etc to high end ones like DLS, focal or MB quart etc.... thumbup.gif

3 way components are much more expensive cos they have added sound features and they sound far better than 2 way components....not sure wat features cos im new in ICE too... rolleyes.gif

the 3 way u talking about (no plans of subwoofer) is the 6X9 inch speaker setup, they are mostly good for rear speakers as they will pump out bass mostly tongue.gif ...but the sound mostly rojak since its 3 combined things mid, tweeter and bass....if u want good sound go for component sets for ur front door since most of the time u are driving the car, so u want urself to enjoy the music coming from front side whistling.gif .....imagine listening to a concert from the back of ur head, its not the way rite whistling.gif ?? if u atleast change the the front components first, u will have a good sound staging.... smile.gif

forget about the rear speakers for now rolleyes.gif ...if money is a concern, upgrade to amp and sub later on...if u worry about rear passenger not listening to music, then ur can use ur current P2 OEM speakers in the rear, but front go for component set that is an advice that most ppl would agree... wink.gif

as for 6X9 oval size speakers, they are good if lets say u want a simple setup.... blink.gif

sifus, please correct my phrases if any of it is wrong...thanks.... notworthy.gif

well said

but some correction
3 way doesn't mean must be better than 2 way
3 way is made to cover up the gap that is between the tweeter and the midbass (last time)

now the technology is so much superior
some manufacturer can come out with a 2 way that has overlap frequency of the tweeters and mid bass
so in this case u dun need to get a 3 way
moreover a 3 way is so much headache that speaker placing is so much more trouble and tuning will be another
*
thanks for ur correction even though i dont really understand much of the above statements rolleyes.gif ...sounds like advance stuff to a beginner actually.... smile.gif

hie all wave.gif

I got a question, if lets say a 6 inch mid bass woofer speaker being used in a ICE system, will it push out more bass or there will be sound coming as well ?? unsure.gif blink.gif

from wat I know its not a component set since there is no crossover or tweeters, I guess its a coaxial but not sure either.... sad.gif

asking so cos its being said mid bass woofer, so I suspect it will act or function like a subwoofer (no sound coming at all) brows.gif ....please advice sifus.... notworthy.gif

bro shocker, coaxial is more than one speakers in one unit.

the 6.5" mid bass woofer that u mention is those component set 6.5" n tweets n passive xover, just that without tweets n passive.

Its not a sub woofer bro.

thanks for ur reply....anyway, Im just confused whether it will function like a subwoofer meaning no vocal sound is produced rather than normal midbass like those from component sets..... sweat.gif tongue.gif

by the way, some pics for u to see and understand why I was asking such question, pics are taken from lelong.... biggrin.gif as u can see its advertised as midbass woofers instead of midbass components or coaxial, so Im confused there leadi ler...hehehehe... laugh.gif

there's still vocal coming out from the mid-range/mid-bass
moreover, it's a very important aspect

thanks for ur reply dude... notworthy.gif

QUOTE((N)3 @ Dec 22 2006, 02:53 PM)
those a mids

a component set consists of a tweeter + mids + passive xover
so that one only consists of mid
you will have to get a seperate tweeter and xover

hehehe tongue.gif ...thanks for clearing that up...wasnt thinking of getting them either..... brows.gif

My advise is not to buy anything from lelong.com... Because a lot of imitation ICE stuft sold there.
*
u are rite about fake stuffs at lelong, but there are also some genuine ones but its hard to differenciate them out due to abundance of imitation ones overclouding the original ones... doh.gif sad.gif sweat.gif

I have frens who bought ICE stuffs from lelong, those fake/imitation component speakers of course rolleyes.gif ....at first, they do not sound that good (u can actually notice the difference between ori and fake stuff very clearly if u do compare them) blink.gif ......but later on once those fake ones started to sound better or improved (since they already been warmed up) and can say comparable to original ones of the same model.... brows.gif

but those ppl who play with ICE always can easily notice which one is fake or original by listening......trust me on that...hehehehe laugh.gif

If we put aside the quality of imitation product... in actual fact how did it fare against original product most of the time?

For example the sound... do it sound the same or just like what I think... worse than the original (shocker statement above caught my attention hmm.gif )...
*
well bro, wat I mentioned previously is wat I heard from ICE sifu ppl who made the comparison, not any normal ppl or myself..... cool2.gif

wat actually I wanted to say is that if u are normal or beginner ICEr, then u might not actually realise the sound reproduction between a fake product and original product, there is some difference for sure which normally ppl who play ICE often and have sensitive ears can notice it easily thumbup.gif

they told me wat they felt when they did a comparison on same model set in 2 different cars, one car with fake stuff and one is ori stuff whistling.gif ....from there on, u are free to make ur own assumption, Im just merely sharing facts here...cheers.. biggrin.gif
