The FT shipment that got stuck in customs cost me RM51 for clearance, RM20 of that was GST. (+RM 42 Uber ride to pick it up!)

QUOTE PUTRAJAYA: A Malindo Air passenger has brought new meaning to the oft-said adage, “Man on Fire”. http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2015...ir-vape-flames/On Saturday, while en route to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) from Kota Kinabalu, a man was watching a video on the display screen in his Boeing 737-800 aircraft seat. At that juncture, an electronic cigarette (e-cigarette) battery inside a bag, which was placed on the passenger's lap, suddenly burst into flames. In the 6.45pm incident, which occurred after the aircraft had just taken off from Kota Kinabalu, Malindo Air passengers and flight crew faced anxious moments as the man sustained burns on the thighs and left hand. Sepang police chief ACP Abdul Aziz Ali said the fire occurred while the passenger was watching a video on the display screen in his seat. "In the midst of watching the video, the vape battery in a bag lying on the man's lap suddenly caught fire. "He was treated immediately by another passenger who happened to be a doctor. "The crew managed to quickly bring the fire under control and the plane landed safely at the KLIA2 at 8.44pm," he said when contacted Sunday. ACP Abdul Aziz said the injured passenger had lodged a police report. |

QUOTE(gnomemaster @ Oct 28 2015, 02:53 PM) Best case scenario, they overlook. Worst case, i have to pay agent to clear. FedEx from experience will always use CIF value to clear, even a RM200-250 shipment will apply CIF value based on non discounted freight rate and end up getting taxed. My courier is fedex, the kastam say fedex will pay first and get from me later on? My stuff is more than 500 d lol Basically the standard fedex shipping rate gets applied to item value to determine CIF price for clearance. That's from my experience with importing with FedEx anyway (although not Vape stuff) |

QUOTE(gnomemaster @ Oct 28 2015, 03:31 PM) Yea. Dats y i blame impulsice behaviour. Click click like very syok. 500it is thn next time lol Nah it isn't a good thing !So....is it a good thing? Lol. Confused Basically as an example, a RM300 shipment will come out as customs value of RM600+ (this is all dependant on volumetric weight to determine CIF value) If it's a smaller / lighter package it won't add as much - larger size will add more in value. |
