Not sure if this is the correct channel to ask but please correct me if i am wrong. I have bought an old terrace house few years back and have go through all the legal procedure. Everything is fine but there is one problem that worrying me all this while. The ex-tenant/owner's mail. A lot of them. At first we thought they might need some time to change their mailing address. After more than 5 years passed and we noticed they still not doing anything about it. We start to worried as there are some people from lawyer/banking/finance/insurance to look for the ex-owner. We have tried many time to tell them the person they looking is no longer tenant here but still coming back. We tried to contact the ex-owner but he doesn't care. Next thing i did is to open all the banking letter which with urgent notice. I found out the ex-owner have a lot of loans. Not only him, his sons, daughters, son in law and etc all using my address as mailing address. Credit card loan, car loan, business loan, personal loan... . All expired and default. Big sum small sum. You name it they have it. What should i do? What can i do about it? Summary ----------- - Ex-owner using my house address as mailing address and don't want to change. - Ex-owner and family member have financial problems. Various of loans and doesn't seem want to pay back after so many years. He is a business man and living in bungalow with more than 4 cars. - What can i do? report police? 1) Make police report just for the purpose to get the report
2) Forward the police report + your comment to all those bank that involve including legals firm.

Any easier way like reporting to CCRIS or CTOS? I mean anyway i could solve this problem to the root without being passive doing police report then wait if anything happened only show the police report?

i'll cut to the chase ...
NO ONE CARE !
just dump those mail away.
and really, go just make a police report. you need to help those law firm and what ever firm as well. they have no choice since its the last known address. pass them a copy so they can go back to office and report that they have done their best ... they have nothing against you, its just their job.
on your end you need to send a notice to all those firm that the ownership has change and he/she no longer reside there and ask them to update their record. by registered mail and keep a record.
See, throwing it away is the easiest right ?

had the same problem when I bought a sub-sale unit, initially it was bank statements and later on telekom bills started to pop up. I called up the bank and telekom and told them that we are the new owners of the unit. Never received any statements or bills since.

no need settle other people problem. that guy purposely dont want to pay loan is a proof of ignorance, why need to go for hassle to solve his problem? u want to give free lawyer fee for what?
action as mentioned by Kevin Chan or aurora97 is the ideal solution. this is not a new thing. other people also face the same problem just report to the issuing party by call is enuf already.

I checked some of the mail and noticed some of the loan is being made after the house sold to me. It give me the impression the ex-owner purposely use the old address. Thanks all for the reply. I guess better visit nearest police for a report.
