Yes you may do that. But wherever possible, post your source/example of the market price.

Yeah but what happen if let say he is selling lower than what he bought for, but same price as the stuff can get in other threads.

Eg.

I'm selling a sound card for RM 200. I bought it 3 months ago for RM250. And someone came into my thread going like "Bro, bulk session/xxx selling for only RM210 new one...Lower your price". How about that situation? It's not like the seller has the intention to con anyone right?

If you can post a link to that RM210 thread, then by all means post away. More information and options doesn't hurt.

yes you may, as a matter of fact, we recommend it.

However, it would be wise to back up your comments with the necessary proof in order to protect the interest of the seller.

Even if you're not a potential customer, but think its wise to raise an alarm in any of the sales being conducted, please do so.

We however will not tolerate hijacking of sales threads just for the sake of it. The enforcers will clamp down on anyone who is found to be involved in hijacking threads without valid reasons.

End of the day, the Lowyat.NET trade section is a community based trading area unlike those of ebay/lelong. We practice an open policy to ensure fair trade for all.

no offence TS but Rihh price is cheaper.
Although Rihh doesn't display all the speakers price he can get them too.~
I'm in no way connected to Rihh jus wanna let everyone know there's a cheaper deal in here ~

So is this type of post is okay?

p.s. No hard feelings to the poster, I just happen to pass by that post of yours.

in my opinion.. can give comment on the price.. but just don't say seller A selling cheaper than seller B.. it's like kinda unfair to the seller B, right?
maybe can say like this, "there's somebody selling cheaper than u, u might wan to consider to revise ur price?" smile.gif

my opinion. smile.gif

IMO those type of post are unnecessary.

although we encourage OPEN concept of trading, that post looks like one that jeopardizes other people's thread.

refer to Trade Zone Rules & Regulations - Rule #6

IMO price variances are acceptable. if the price is too high, then perhaps the person who notice it could post on the thread or perhaps even before posting on the thread, enquire of the seller of whether he is aware of the price being OFF by far - spare the TS from embarassment. smile.gif

of course, being a forum - it would be good that all participants be tactful in phrasing their words so as not to offend the TS as well.

i see a cycle.

Seller A selling at RM 300
Seller B selling at RM 290
busybody comes in to seller A, say seller B selling cheaper. end up both RM 290.
later Seller C comes in at RM 270 through a better "lubang". busybody comes again on Seller A and B's thread - end up all at RM 270.

I have a thread that can serve as a case study for this, borderline-thread-hijacking issue. Being the threadstarter/seller, it makes me damned annoyed vmad.gif when someone comes in and says "it's too pricey IMO" and then proceeds to go on a tangent where they can get it cheaper (outside LYN). Even after proving that what I'm selling is below market price, they persist on being a TROLL.

Link will be provided if requested.

my oppinion is:
if someone buy expensive/more than what current price is, he must sell accordingly to second hand price, not deduct a little from the price he /she bought..
which means, if a sound card on average is RM200 n i said i bought it at RM250 n sell it at RM200 after a week usage for a reason, it is not making sense rite?

yeah. that should be how it goes.

using GC as example is better, since the price drop is probably fastest.

buy an 6800 Ultra at RM 600.

after 3 month usage, the price would probably be around RM 400.

by then the selling price for this item (USED status) should be based on the current price, not previous price.

so yeah, as long as a USED unit is not higher than a new unit it's fine. then again if someone is dumb enough to put it higher, they're not con-ning people either. any "Water fish" that goes for the (ugly) bait would either be stupid or desperate. hehe. wink.gif

while we encourage open-ness over the forum, it would be good if participants ensure that their post is to help the threadstarter, not to jeopardize his sale.

normally i would use PM instead of posting in public.

EDITED : however to jeopardize the sale(s) for a CONFIRMED conman would be good. *put on anti-flame suit*

hijacking would be like for example, i'm selling a nice handphone. you, on the other hand also have the same phone to sell - so you come on my thread and say that you're selling that phone AND at lower price.

so now, you've hijacked my thread. and you're jeopardizing my sale.

jeopardizing sale doesn't necessarily involve hijacking though, it could be as simple as coming in and say player B is selling RM 5 cheaper than you. it's totally unnecessary and could be done on PM but heck the price diff is like Carrefour vs Giant vs Tesco.

Edit: Not 1 week after the last dispute was cleaned up, I have another MORON coming into my sales threads posting up JUNK, not doing their own research and JEOPARDIZING my sales.

Prime example: link deleted.

When I get my proof of why my price is such (scanning a price brochure), I am going to SLAM this person back to the Stone Ages and get my thread cleaned. Until then, please read this post as an EXAMPLE of what "jeopardizing sales" means.

Sorry to double post, but this needs attention once more. It's happening too much to me and frankly, I'm getting sick of having to ask the TZ mods come in and clean my threads. (Please refer to previous post for info)

Hmm someone cleaned my thread. Thanks.. but.. who did it?
