German Defender Hints He Would Be Open to Joining Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool
![]() QUOTE Schalke defender Benedikt Howedes has hinted he could be interested in joining fellow countryman Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, according to Bild. Now, we will be linked to any German player that's availableHowedes has spent his entire career with the German outfit but has been linked with a move to the Premier League on a number of occasions - with Arsenal recently considered a prime candidate to sign him. However, the 27-year-old confirmed he turned down offers from the Gunners and AC Milan in the summer in favour of staying put. According to Sky Sports, he had said: "Arsenal and AC Milan were really keen on my services. But I have decided in favour of Schalke." However, in a recent interview with Bild he confirmed that he would consider a move away from his homeland now if the chance came his way, naming England as a potential destination. Howedes says Liverpool and English football are now privileged to have a man like Klopp in their league, and while he stopped short of confirming that he would definitely like to move to Liverpool, the player spoke highly of the club's history. He did however stress that there are no ongoing talks or potential deals on the table. He said: “A move abroad excites me. England would for sure be an interesting destination. “Currently I am with Schalke. There are no deals sorted. But of course, for a footballer there are some clubs that are more interesting than others. “English football is very fortunate to have someone like Klopp in the league, Liverpool is a club with great tradition and values.” Klopp was appointed Liverpool's manager last week, while he has been preparing his team throughout the last few days ahead of his first Premier League match in charge of the Merseysiders. Liverpool face Tottenham at White Hart Lane in Saturday's early kick off, however they will now be without Joe Gomez and Danny Ings, who could each miss the rest of the season. QUOTE(tampinmy @ Oct 16 2015, 09:26 AM) LFC fans are generally happy that a manager of such caliber has landed the top post. I agree, there is much work to be done, klopp knows Liverpool is shite now and it hasn't been for a while, there is no identity, no bravery, players seems scared of their own abilities. It very obvious. We saw it, we knew it has been over time. Brendan threw out "the thinking player(s)" and installed a system, where anyone can fit like a predetermined chip. If Rafa was labeled as robotic, I think Rodgers regime was instilling staid pattern of tikiping-ponging within a square box. Only a rebel like Suarez added bite. It's obvious. Anyway.. With inggs and Gomez out, and host of other 1 st team players, I think the rest of the players need to believe in their abilities. As Rafa did let out djimi traore out on the biggest stage of his players career. Believe in ability, not obsessed in a Barcelona copy system. I'm not saying Barcelona system is a terrible system, but it's from a different viewpoint, and Brendan missed it. This post has been edited by koolspyda: Oct 16 2015, 10:05 AM |

the name jurgen klopp itself attract top players, huge difference compare to br. but lets give another chance to lovren and sakho, if both still couldnt perform this season, ship them out and get a proper replacement. and i say the same thing to mignolet, never a top gk in my book

imo, the problem with ings and gomez out is not a lack of replacements.
but the replacements lack of fitness due to being largely ignored during BR's reign. |

That's the first step. Yes, the rest of the season, they have the opportunity to show why Liverpool bought them for their strengths. |
