Watching last night's announcement and reading the subsequent hands on, I'm getting more convinced that this should be my 'upgrade' from the OnePlus One.

However, my main concern is the SD810 which is known to be hot and throttles performance. Even if they can dissipate the heat well, performance suffering is kinda not worth it.

I did try to pre-order from the US/UK/JP Google Stores last night. Added some extra USD/GBP 30 for shipping costs to Malaysia (my own personal estimate) and found that JP costs a LOT for 32GB (2.8k). US has the cheapest offering amongst all (2.2k ~ 2.5k).

Now we wait for reviews.

Not as easy as you think.... You need to factor in sirim cost $100 and another 6% GST on the invoice cost. For the minuscule saving, I'd prefer to just get from, techbug

Finalizing my color choice for 64gb and casing before conforming my order with techbug

I believe my previous SIRIM permit for the OPO is valid for 3 devices? Does that mean it's for the same model or different one?

Do share how much techbug would be charging. Any links to them?

Sirim is per consignment of Max 3 units each

I've asked him to quote me the price for the carbon Quartz casing on Google play as well

Thanks guys. Hmmm... 2850 from TechBug. Tempting but I feel the need to wait for reviews.  rclxub.gif

Waiting for some reviews would be the right way but I'm a damn Google whore and supporter that I just have to get a nexus. Still prefer them stock android experience and with a better camera, as claimed this time, I'm in.

Anyway, the nexus 6 camera ain't that bad. Took it with me to Japan and took some breath taking shots. On underexposed pictures, simply edit it with default photo app, click on the magic wand and it turned out beautiful.

For night shots, just have HDR+ on,

Well soya cincau posted that the device will be here by December, well in time before Christmas. I didnt proceed with an overseas set, prefer to wait out for a local set this time around

And the nexus 6 after marshmallow update felt snappier and got a better battery life. Quite honestly, no reason to change (except maybe for a better camera?) but being an android whore, just go with the annual ritual

wait another 3mths on the road, cannot expect Huawei to launch now to challenge the Huawei Mate S phone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*
I think the mate S a non starter. Difficult to part with a premium price for a Huawei. The nexus 6P is their best bet to gain market share. Hope sensibility prevails and we don't have to wait too long

I am actually comparing Nexus 6P and Note 5.

How is the camera compared to Note 5?

What is the resale value? During the Note 5 launch, Samsung take trade-in for Note 2 for RM600 which was a lot of money considering it's an old phone.

Nexus phones are not famed for any camera prowess but I can say for a camera novice, the HDR mode on the nexus 6 was more than acceptable when I took night shots of otaru canal in Hokkaido, Japan recently. Crisp and clear

Samsung has been known to have one of the best camera to rival iPhone but the LG G4 was pretty amazing too when I tried my brother's phone recently.

I won't go with samsung anymore. The bloatware and the eventual lag is very frustrating. Outside the nexus, I will get the LG G4

Lowyat.net has reported that Maxis is now running LTE advanced, which is capable for speeds up to 225mbps in theory, trials in selected locations in the KLangvalley.

And Nexus 6P is LTE advanced compatible, capable of speeds up to 300mbps while Nexus 6 is also LTE advanced compatible and can support up to 150mbps

The icon 4G+ should appear when connected

My location is set battery saving. WiFi and Bluetooth always scanning turned off by default. The apps I use are Disa, Fenix, Insta and Spotify. But no idea what's actually causing my phone to wake up so much. You using the normal WhatsApp?

If you read up on how Doze works, you will notice that for it to be effective, the phone needs to sit idle for a period of time before Doze is invoked. Which means, any movement inside your pocket will not invoke Doze

You can see which apps are optimized by doze by clicking on the battery icon on the top pane, then options (the 3 dots) on the upper right and click battery optimization. It will show you which app is optimized and which one not. By default, all are optimized except for some google services

My own experience on my nexus 6 is that battery drain overnight could be anywhere between 3-7%

I will go with this spigen case. Had it on my nexus 6 The clear back cover never faded to a yellow tint even after a year + of use. The case is sturdy but light. Though not cheap but the quality is amazing

Wonder whether there's any local seller of the spigen case so that I don't have import in myself

I'm interested too with this case..good to hear it wont go yellowish
But i hope it has good feel too like rugged armor
*
Yep, good feel, nice grip. Protective sides doesn't scratch easily too. In fact, just checked it. Hardly scratched at all except for some faint lines that can be polished off easily. Even the transparent back is just a wipe and clean. Definitely best case I've used so far.

Now have to look out to a local seller otherwise have to import in myself when Huawei MY launches the phone

Can use with the skin on the back of the phone?
*
I think shouldn't be a problem since there's air pocket space around the casing for protective cushioning

Found a spigen seller. pm'ed him on the neo hybrid ex case. If he's not bringing in, I'll settle for the spigen ultra hybrid instead since I can vouch for the quality of their clear cases
