Google Nexus 6P Review

Weak brightness output despite using Super AMOLED. And Michael from Pocketnow also agrees to that. So, I guess it's not something weird

Worse battery life than Nexus 6 despite having bigger battery and smaller screen

Another not so-good news

Unlocking the bootloader of the Nexus 6P seems to be blowing a hardware fuse, you can't reverse that

It looks like Google and Huawei just pulled a "Samsung Knox" with their latest collaboration - it seems that unlocking the bootloader of the Nexus 6P will blow a hardware fuse. This fuse is called QFuse, and sadly, you can't return it back to the default setting via any means if you desire to relock the bootloader of the handset.

This is most certainly a security feature aimed to make Android Pay more secure and reveal if the device has been tampered with. It is similar to Samsung's Knox in this regard, as the latter also employs a hardware fuse which clearly shows if the phone has been rooted or has had its firmware tampered with in any way. We don't know if the Nexus 5X also comes with QFuse on board, but we suppose that it does.

Due to payment safety, safety implementation is required.

Root always means no secure.

I wont say it's 'no secure' more like 'no protection'. It's perfectly fine if user know how and what, sadly many do it for the sake of do it, and when something wrong, they blame others for not warning/stopping them.

I mean having pay system, root shall not apply and every company must do some hardware trigger and block the pay system for safety purposes.

So no surprise Huawei add such trigger in Nexus 6P

Google put in that requirement for Android Pay, I do understand that, as it's money related, Google just protecting themselves.
I think if Google able to perfect or improve apps data backup, I can completely dump root. My remaining usage for root is mainly TiBu.
