Stock price is about the future of the company, not its history
That is what they want you to believe, but trust me, stock price depends more on past history. The valuation of company has a lot to do with its past record (earning, dividend, FCF) because future is always blind.
Sounds like the SOP words from MLMer That is what they want you to believe, but trust me, stock price depends more on past history. The valuation of company has a lot to do with its past record (earning, dividend, FCF) because future is always blind.

If stock price has nothing to do with its history, a company that is losing money may be valued the same as a profitable growth company cause anyone can cooked up a story of the prospective growth but they can't fake the past. IB analyst has the talent of writing rosy fairy tale growth story.
In fact it is. Many frying punters cook up stories, and fry the bugger counter. When a company announces they won new profitable projects, the price shoots up.Just look at the companies in USA. Eg. Facebook, Amazon in the beginning all made losses. Bad history. Why people chase their price ? Because of their future.
Another example is Tesla and Uber. Now they are making billions of losses for the past years. But Tesla share price is still sky high (came down in recent months, but still very high for a loss making company). As for Uber, investors still value it at tens of billion company despite the past losses.
For SGX, Singtel has good past records, but because of the bleak future, the price came down.
AS for Sreits, investor buys and sell based on Wale, ie, what their future rental income can bring in as revenue.

Do bank lend you money based on your future prospect or past financial record ?? Your company ability to secure a loan is based 100% on the past financial record. They don't even wanna hear about your future prospect, yet their counterpart from IB keep telling people the target price is based on future prospect. Ironic
Future prospect is a speculation that likely turned out to be false.
Yes, bank lend you because of your ability to generate future profits, not your past history.Future prospect is a speculation that likely turned out to be false.
In all my previous application for business loans, they require a profit forecast for 3-10 years.
Very clearly you have no experience in corporate loans process
