u think will be good or bad news?
price went below 18 already

If you focus on price, then you should focus in its NAV which is lower than the share price.
However, if you invest for the dividends, then you should reinvest.

Which are you in for?

As for news, who knows? The managers are quite good. They have been delivering for a long while. I will buy more if it comes to my target. I am in for the dividends.

They always announce together with the 1st month of the same quarter dividends. No worries.
I think in their last press/callin they announced no problem for the following quarter.

QUOTE(kart @ Oct 14 2018, 10:10 PM)
Sorry, off topic a bit.

Have you reconsidered Singapore Savings Bonds? Back then, you strongly discouraged me to invest money in Singapore Savings Bonds, because we can get higher dividend and capital gain via S-Reits and Singapore Shares.

Now, your tone seems to suggest that in view of volatility, you keep your spare SGD cash in Singapore Savings Account. Since it may not be right time to buy more shares in S-Reits and Singapore Shares (waiting for market crash), Singapore Savings Bonds can be a viable option for the time being.

Anyway, you certainly have better ways, than me, in investment. So, just disregard my opinion, if it is not suitable for your situation. No offense intended. smile.gif

Post here. I believe Hansel is saying that because he and I beliece the market is expensive now. Back then when I started, market was still cheap.

You and Hansel are concerned with idle SGD cash which is not generating meaningful interest. Yet, in view of volatility and uncertainty, you two feel that it is too expensive to perform additional investment in SGX, and I agree with you.

There is why I suggest Singapore Savings Bonds, as a place to park idle SGD cash and generate interest higher than of the savings account.

Perhaps, you have another methods to park idle SGD cash and generate rather meaningful interest, while we wait for market crash to perform additional investment in SGX.

I remembered that you did post the following methods to park idle fund. As of now, are you saying that these methods are not suitable for you at the moment?

- Citibank maxigain (if you got the moo and able to open account) 2%+
- United Class A bond fund 2-3%
- PIMCO GIS Income Fund Class E SGD Hedged Bond Fund, 5-7%
- Parkway 4%

You must have your personal reasons, and I respect that. smile.gif

Back to topic,... emm,... I noticed the Astrea IV PE Bond Fund keeps steady or appreciates in price when the mkt meltdown days took place recently,...

I managed to catch a number of units at 1.00 recently when this bond fund IPO'ed. At 1.00 par price, my yield is at 4.35%, plus capital appreciation too.

Hence, if I have spare SGD, I can buy more of this bond fund,... and though I would be averaging up, my holding price is still low because my IPO price kept 'covering' the higher Buy prices.

Even if I continue to average up my prices here, my yield will still provide me above 4.10% return, paid out twice years, and with no lock-in period like an FD,... I can sell whenever I want,...

Well, that's my plan above for my idling SGDs now,....

The other plan for my idling SGDs now would be to give to my girlfriend,... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Try to impress her a bit to show her that I cared for her,....

You can buy from open market. But you can't sell it. No liquidity.
QUOTE
If you buy these things and you want to exit them before the 5 years is up, your only way out is to sell them on the SGX, where liquidity for retail bonds is “low”. And “low” is actually me being polite, because for reference, the liquidity of the Astrea IV Bonds on the SGX today is, and I kid you not, “Sell Volume 166, Buy Vol: 21”.
