Given the flux of market liquidity, would expect some small spikes on that day, but should die down quickly some time later. Just my 2 cents.

On another news, I am very worried about my holdings in blue chips REITs and shares. They (except SATS) are all in green, and REITs kind of give me double digit returns within 2 months.

Even the "overvalued" KDC REIT is now giving me 6% in 2 months.

Now I am wondering if they are overvalued...

It seems the market is returning back to normal as if Covid19 didn't happen, as if a vaccine was found.

Maybe need to lock profit soon in anticipation of second wave and 2nd lockdown.

wah ... more s-reit sell off.

inflation leads to rising bond yield, leads to rising interest rate, which is not good for reits?

Yes.. Rising bond yield is bad for reits.

Question then is whether the bond yields will continue to rise or will stabilize? US 10 year Treasury is now nearly back to January 2020 levels, pre-covid level. At that time Fed rate is 1.75% as opposed to 0 now.

On the inflation point. Bond yields are said to be going up on expectation of inflation coming. This inflation is supposedly coming due to stimulus, end of pendemic, recovery.

In other words, the interest rate market is saying thngs will get back to normal soon, n with the massive spending, inflation will follow.

Im personally rather sceptical of this. I think the interest rate market is getting too far ahead of reality.

And if things do get back to normal, which is what the interest rate market is telling, then reits earnings will recover n yield will improve.

And I believe central banks will not allow interest rates to go up too much.

Regardless stay diversified..

Agreed. That's what I thought too but the market selling off is telling another story.

And it seems ppl are letting go S-reits but HK-reits are still strong. rclxub.gif
