Another rubbish result from SINGPOST. It seems like SGX is full of this kind of company managed by incompetent idiot with high pay resulting in bluechip companies turn to falling knife. Monopolistic company also managed like shit..come Msia and learn how to manage a postal company from POS Malaysia. doh.gif
Corporate governance in SGX is worst than Bangla Stock Exchange.

Rule of thumb in buying Singapore stock is
Bluechip = min 30% lower than peak price
Small cap = min 50% lower than peak price

No need to chase high 1, coz they will surely come down.
If near peak price already, better sell. Don't keep for old age, coz its surely will go down 1.

Whatever u buy in SGX, make sure its rock bottom price including those so called blue chip stock (SINGTEL, UOB, DBS, OCBC, CAPITALAND etc). Don't buy if its not at least 3 years low, otherwise prepare for paper losses.

Yes Singtel already 3 years low, so qualified.

As a rule of thumb in investing in SGX :-
Large cap - buy at min 3 year low
Medium cap - buy at min 5 year low
Small cap - buy at all time low only (if still fundamentally sounds)

Do not ever buy at near high cause u will guaranteed to loss money.

Stock price is about the future of the company, not its history

That is what they want you to believe, but trust me, stock price depends more on past history. The valuation of company has a lot to do with its past record (earning, dividend, FCF) because future is always blind.

If stock price has nothing to do with its history, a company that is losing money may be valued the same as a profitable growth company cause anyone can cooked up a story of the prospective growth but they can't fake the past. IB analyst has the talent of writing rosy fairy tale growth story.

Do bank lend you money based on your future prospect or past financial record ?? Your company ability to secure a loan is based 100% on the past financial record. They don't even wanna hear about your future prospect, yet their counterpart from IB keep telling people the target price is based on future prospect. Ironic

Future prospect is a speculation that likely turned out to be false.

Bank lend you because of your ability to generate future profit based on past history. If your past 3 year earning average at 100k per annum, do you think they will accept it if you tell them your future earning will be 1M per annum. Company without sufficient financial history will be difficult to get loan.

Forecast earning for 3-10 years is the most stupid exercise. They will still give out loan amount based on past history. Most company can't even forecast a 1 year earning correctly. That 3-10 years forecast is rubbish.

If share price is based on past history alone, the fluctuation will be very limited because all data has been made known and no uncertainty. But in reality share price is based on a combination of past history and future prospect. This is where the fluctuation come into play.

Apart from REITS, Singapore stock are highly cyclical. This include a wide range of traditionally stable sector like Telco, Post, Consumer. I reckoned this is due to their management style that is not prudent and always chasing for high growth thru whatever mean possible. But end up with in impairment and write off. Not worth buying for long term investment.

It is wrong to assume low book value is cheap. It got there for a reason. Most under perform bank trade at below its book value. If based on this principle alone, you may never buy stock such as PBBANK or HLBANK that trade way above their book value, yet they outperformed most of the stock in Bursa. The valuation on its book value has a lot to do with its ROA.

For Singapore stock, just stick to its REIT. Better don't waste time in Singapore company. Most company cannot perform one. Blue chip that start with Sing*** all are under performer.

Singapore is First in the world. But can't say the same for its lousy stock market. Most company cannot even growth in SGD term, due to its strong currency.

Most singapore stock is on downtrend. Some even down for 5 freaking years (SINGTEL, STARHUB, SINGPOST). STI is up mainly because of its 3 banks. Better avoid singapore stock and put your money in Sg REIT, HK or US. Its a waste of time.

Cause he anti SG market. He is not dividend investor but he chase capital gains. SG market all stocks more or less stagnant. But if you know where to look, you can find good income stocks.

I said only SG REIT is worth investing. If REIT is not dividend stock, I dunno what it is.

Actually Singapore got few good dividend stocks. Nor as good as US market in terms of growth but still decent.
DBS, OCBC, sats, Jardine and family, micro mech, ums.
*
They have a few performing 1, but most are underperformed even though dividend is high (SINGTEL, SINGPOST, STARHUB, CDG, SEMBCORP, SC MARINE, KEPPEL, RAFFLES MED...the list is very long. I can go on...

Selling during market tumble is a wrong strategy most novice will do, thinking they can buy back at lower price. Most will end up buying back at a higher price than they sold earlier.

Hi all, i have an existing cdp account and have previously used iocbc to trade.

If i now want to change broker to trade, say fsmone, can i just sell my shares (Previously bought using iocbc) using a new brokerage account?
*
Yes possible. Just apply CDP linkage with FSM.
