Then i would suggest u go and open an acc in Sg. Welcome to Sg market.

As for Msia trade, i havent had open a trade acc. What trade acc is easy to use?
*
I am using iTrade (CIMB), its easy to use. However, I have not been using it for a long while now, just collecting div for BJTOTO for like >10 years now, lost track of ROI already. I haven't had any transactions for the last 10 years, IIRC. Bursa is boring.

I am not sure of the fees compared to other online trading platforms, definitely not the cheapest.

Edit: Sorry OT.

local banks are for for bursa, costly for foreign shares.
ok if u buy to keep, but very costly for trading.

cimb charges sgd10 for each sg dividend payout.
better use sg bank if u can.
best to have a bank account linked to cimb itrade for ease of money transfer.

smile.gif You guys are pretty knowledgeable now,... replying to each other,... thumbsup.gif

I can advise from here,... this is what you can do to minimise your funds transfer charges and whatever charges in future,.. no need to experiment here and there anymore,... TRUST ME !!!

Open an account with Maybank Sgp. Make sure you activate your internet banking capability, Maybank2U Sgp.

TT your RM to Maybank Sgp, just RM10 charge if you use Maybank2U Msia to do so for TT'ing of RM10K and below. NO need to go to the branch.

When the funds arrived in Maybank Sgp, transfer to any destination that you wished to by using Maybank2U Sgp. NO need to appear personally in Sgp anymore.

No need, as long as you have a way to deposit to trust account, e.g. tt, ibg, maybank2u bill payment(iirc), bank counter, or even cheque.

Yeah,... that's why you need to open asap,...if you have to pay the fall below fee, it's just SGD2 per month, right ? Then pay them bro,.. you have a pipe to send your funds down,...

What is SGD2, or RM6.00 if you are earning SGD dividends per month ?? Worth it, right ??

Hopefully I'm right,... I've, for one, have gone through the 'experiments' way before anyone thought about all these 'tricks',...err, call it tactics better,...

If you discovered otherwise, or perhaps wherever that needs to be fine-tuned,.. let us know,... and others please share too,...

Parkway Life REIT released its results this morning,... Results were released at 7.45 am before trading started,...

Two SG counters that I know of, and that I hold which always release results before trading starts are Parkway Life REIT and Frasers Centrepoint Trust !!

One core thing that we were told during the AGM this year was : PLife REIT does not issue placement shares and does not issue new units without seeking consent from unitholders,... hence, the unit base size does not increase without going through us. .. thumbsup.gif

My analysis this afternoon on the coming dpu, minimum payouts for PLife REIT :-

Q4, 2016 - 3.07 SG Cts per unit (tbp ard 26.02.2017)
Q1, 2017 - 3.08 SG CtS per unit (tbp ard 26.05.2017)
Q2, 2017 - 3.08 SG Cts per unit (tbp ard 25.08.2017)
Q3, 2017 - 3.08 SG Cts per unit (tbp ard 25.11.2017)

Rental collection will either grow or remain constant, and without unit base size increasing, the estimations above should be quite accurate,...

Hmmm... ya seriously thinking of opening SCB and MBB (as recommended by Hansel) accounts.

As for Msia trading account, I prefer to use itrade cimb. Brokerage fee wise, I think negotiable.

I really need to sell off my Parkway Life in cimb nominees account and buy back using my SG acc. Its heat pain to be charged SG10 per dividend payout.

Singpost rose sharply today,... I have always had faith in Singpost, their transformation plans really worked. It's not easy for a major company to transform,....

Alibaba is pouring more money into Singpost, increasing stakes directly into Singpost and into Singpost's logistic subsidiary, Quantium Sols.

I wonder when will Alibaba come buy stakes in Pos Msia,...

Owning shares in CDP is more of direct ownership. It allows you to :-

1) be totally free from risks of the nominee bank failing.
2) attend AGMs and other co meetings.
3) participate directly in corporate actions without waiting for notifications from the brokerage.
4) sell via any direct-holding brokerage rather than where you bought through.
*
Thank you!

1 -> quite difficult to happen tongue.gif
2, 3 -> Similar to Malaysia
4 -> Means in Singpaore there's only one "CDS" account??? That's why we can sell through any brokers when it's not nominee account (Cause a sI know, in Malaysia, even when it's direct account, we cannot sell through other bank :S)

Bro,... err,.. can't agree entirely,.. when I think deeper this morning,... Not every monopoly ctr in SG will do better,... SMRT did not perform.

Secondly, I wouldn't call Singpost a monopoly in the industry it is in,... there are always Fedex, Citylink Singapore, UPS, etc,...

The thing abt Singpost, to me is,... it is one company that managed to transform itself,.. this is what I noticed,... somehow, it is one company that managed to change itself and involve itself into 'other' operational activities that generate profits. And such activities are not like real estate, or REITs, or asset holdings, etc,.. whereby, these 'types' of activities are not really true operational activities, this type of activities are activities that ANYBODY CAN DO, PROVIDED HAVE $$$.

But Singpost poured its funds into logistics activities, where they still need to perform work, and win market share in order to generate revenue, followed by profits. Transforming in this way, is, more difficult,...

Don't know if you understand what I said,.. sorry abt that,.. sometimes, it's better to explain verbally than to write. What I wrote here is something that came from my instincts as a businessman,... Using money to make more money is,.. to me,.. easier than finding productive work and winning market share to make more money !

I observed Singpost managed to do the more difficult one !

I will be throwing a talk called 'Gut Feel in The SGX' soon. Don't know if anybody will attend !!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Counter-replies to your reies above :-

1) I used to think like this too,... BUT,.. if you look back at the previous discussion in Sgp, Stanchart Sgp ALMOST closed down their whole equities dept,... and 'pushed' everything to an outside party. Well,... I don't know the 'new' terms and conditions imposed by the outside party, I just know I wouldn't like to face any new rules,...

In the end, Stanchart Sgp maintained back their equities unit for retail investors inside the bank. Today, institutional investors are 'carried' by an outside party and no more by Stanchart Sgp. If Stanchart can't survive with retail investors, something may happen in future,...

4) CDP, you are right abt selling thru any broker in Sgp if you have a CDP Account. You are also right abt the Malaysia arrangement with the CDS Acct and Number.

As an additional note : The ASX follows the Malaysia way, the number is called a HIN - Holder Identification Number. Every non-nominee or Non-Direct Holding Model brokerage must issue a separate HIN for each new client !

Hence,... the SGX way is always more efficient,...
