an nd filter might help but pointing your cam directly at the sun is not a good thing...

actually this claim is a bit not scientic, i still havent find any 'proff' that pointing to sun will kill ur lens/sensor thing.

i wouldnt know too but i'm following the concept, whats bad for your eye is bad for your sensor. film keeps changing so it's alright but prolong exposure on your sensor could damage it.. could.. sadly i'm not willing to experiment with my cam tongue.gif

mayb the magnification theory would work eh? Like when u put magnifying glass directly below the sun , it can start a fire ? Mayb this theory works with lens too...hehe ... biggrin.gif the more u zoom the more light focus on the area? hehe , chapalang theory biggrin.gif

Without filters, you can try to take sun pics when it is cloudy or hazy, at sunrise and sunset, or shoot its reflection in water, etc.

There are many kinds of solar filters you can play with if you're so inclined. Each will show you different aspects of the sun, and some of them are pretty costly. Solar photography is now very popular with astronomers since they can do it in the day time.......unlike the normal forms of astrophotography which require dark skies.
