Roughly how much does it cost to have a simple wedding? I'm Chinese btw...

simple mean only 10 table?
or no dinner at all?

no dinner ..just buffet and tea ceremony

buffet, estimate around RM40 per person at the restaurant (min 50pax)
Pre-wedding RM5k
Actual day wedding photographer & videographer RM6k
Make-up artist RM900
Rings RM2k

Simple wedding also need maybe 20k

The budget is vary depends on your needs. Below are some of my suggestion for your reference

1. If your budget is slightly flexible, you can plan a decent yet not too expensive package at Chinese Restaurant. Many Chinese Restaurant now do offer competitive rate (except those who are already very famous venue).

2. Only invest in basic things if you are not so flexible in budget wise. Focus on the day event, invest in One Photographer (videographer if you have additional budget) + a Good Wedding Emcee to live up your nights. Wedding Emcee (experience one) include services of planning your dinner together with you so that Both the Bride & Groom could focus more on their guest.

Overall, I would say in total is about RM20K to 30K

if malay could get all that plus feed 500 people

malay wedding kinda cheap.

20k can do a lot of stuff..

makan cost is around rm9/person buffet. wedding cake FOC

make up and hair do
- if u only do makan at home just go saloon make up = RM200++
- actual day.. mayb wan hire ppl come home as time =RM500++

prewedding photo shooting =2K
photograher = 2k ( if can ask ur fren to help u for free)
wedding band = 2K ( u can always get cheaper wan, depend on budget)
dinner buffet at home RM40x100 = 4k ( u can skip this and just go makan with family member, 1 table cost only RM500-600)

yup about min 20K u must have to do a wedding but of coz there will be angpow coming in..
the simpler the better

Coat (custom made) - 1400 can be used for business later after alteration

photographer ang pow - RM 200 (friend)
lunch for friends - RM 700
make up RM 150

Dowry RM8800 + RM2000 (Parents contributed the 8800, the 2k myself since MIL bao me really big angpow during tea ceremony)

Actual Day ceremony (Nil)

Dinner
RM5k booking fee....(Last mission)

Mine is kind like puzzle, no actual day ceremony (both of us tired of hse renovation, feel not necessary to do it and decided not to do it so proceed to dinner straight instead)

I guess you need prepare roughly RM20k cash
