for one thing u can be sure is that is what u pay for. spec wise looks nice, but the shit is the software. but so far, im really happy with the camera, is indeed their marketing point for mi4i.
*
thanks for the reply. i know MIUI doesn't work so well on mi4i, but how bad is the lag?

u mean for miui? miui is a piece of shit. bad memory managment and i hate that cleaner thing, cache suppose to reduce write process but it clears every time u clean all apps from recent. that was why i move to cm since.

i feel you on this. my mipad2 has exactly the same problem. but at least it's still fluid smooth. so to u, is mi4i still worth it after the launch of so many redmi note variants?

From the take. U would have went for at least mi note. Mi4i was their device to test the market. Just like the iPhone 5c for apple. Redmi note series no matter what will not be as good as mi series as that is their low-mid range. Mi series are their mid ranger

mi note is way over my budget. mi4i and rn2 r my only options. so mi4i on cm13 is the best option then?

If i were you i will take RN2, bigger screen and better processor. Snapdragon 615 on Mi4i really sucks

My friend swung her hand and hit my Mi4i from chest height (I'm 172cm)
drop flat down on the screen without case, only nilkin tempered glass as protection

no damage, only one of the upper battery case clip pop-ed out and can be pushed back in. wew lucky me

I can't play sight video in wechat. When click to enlarge or view, it asked for video player and then said unable to play video.

Anyone knows why?

wait a bit & go for RN3 with snapdragon leyyy.
only real advantage mi4i over RN2/3 is the camera imo.
mi4i on miui stable 7.1 seems to address most of issues faced.

My redmi note 3g with latest miui 7 dev rom does not lag as bad as this useless piece of garbage ever created by xiaomi. They certainly going downhill with their mi series phone.
*
ur redmi note is on KK. therefore, not really on par with the latest Mobile OS.
