to be honest, with 3K you can only get 16GB iphone 6s, for 16GB iphone 6s plus, that would be 3699...
and the 3K pricing is similar to Samsung note 5...
if MS market share is higher and more apps support, i doubt you would be saying that is a high price tag...
Lumia 950 has comparable specs with good camera, the main area it is loosing is in software / apps support and a rather "buggy" windows 10 mobile...

dont get me wrong, i would like to prefer a lower pricing, but seeing how our currency exchange rate now, IMO is a "OK" price, only that price wont be attracting many new adopters...

and i do miss double tap to wake, got so used to it, that i double tap my XL almost every time...

not entirely use which feature you are asking, but yes there an "infrared" and iris recognition sensor on the top of the phone...
as SteadyPana mentioned that the windows hello is still in beta, if your phone contain sensitive info (like messages / photos that you dont want others to see ) please refrain from using iris recognition...currently there are plenty of loopholes to bypass it...

i'm waiting for my tempered glass to arrive and see if the tempered glass will affect the iris recognition...

camera is good as long you tweak the settings...it can take shots pretty quick, but focus can be bit tricky in low light condition, ie steady hands...wonder why MS didnt include laser focus which i'm sure with focusing objects...

what else...can play flac and mkv natively, audio quality is step up from 1520 but if you have hi-reso DAP, then you might be a little disappointed...

BTW, it can also play mkv files without having to download addition app from the store...

yeah, even on desktop, some of my mkv files showing nothing but black screen with sound, guess the movies + tv app doesnt have the necessary codec thus no sound

maybe i didnt notice this before, but the "live photo" seems to be smarter...let say you took a still photo with no moving object, the still photo wont have that "live photo" effect...

edit: if anyone have extra mozo back cover that they would like to sell, do PM me...might want to get one if the price is right...

seems like i experience the bug where it says my phone do not have enough storage, even though i have plenty...
i thought MS fixed the bug before re-releasing to the update

finally got it working...i turned off wifi and data (so it dont download at the background as it is making the phone quite warm) charge the phone to above 80% before turning on back the wifi to download...
by the time it fully updated it was already almost 3am..

as for the iris, mine is working quite fast unless you try to unlock your phone while you are moving, then it will take time trying to scan your eye...

in certain area, windows 10 mobile is good, but it looses to windows 8.1 in many other areas, and stability is one of them...

the start screen is one of the critical feature of windows 10 mobile, and it seems pretty unstable, with tiles not updating...while on windows phone 8, it work perfectly...not sure if this is due to developers not updating their apps to fully support windows 10 mobile or not...

even cortana seems to work better when in windows phone 8

i know i need to reboot my phone, when i open apps and there a "loading" screen.
if i dont manually restart, most probably i would need to press the power button to turn the phone back.

i want W10M to be successful, it will take time i understand that as MS keep "resetting" their API and their direction, i just hope when the time comes, W10M is relevant enough for developers to create apps for it.

yeah, in some aspects i'm really happy, such as the camera (with manual settings, the auto can be a little crappy some time, but most of the time the auto settings is good enough)

i even uninstall candy crush from my phone, currently no games in my phone.
other than some bugs here and there, overall W10M is ok, but certainly need some polishing.
i only hope by then, the developers will take the effort to update their apps, else no matter how good MS polish and update W10M, the apps might still remain buggy.

only used the video function once, that time i wasnt using 4K but 1080p and also test the "turtle" mode

yeah that the one. 100% agree with what you are saying on the auto rich capture, most of the time i use auto is to take static photos. if there are moving objects usually i use manual mode.

i kinda miss the old lumia camera app rich capture, where you can adjust the effect of the HDR, but now mostly you can only adjust the brightness, that also only works when you turn on flash (or flash auto) when taking photo.

i bought 2 casing, both also from amazon, but i bought Ghostek using one of the forumer service here as the seller do not sent to malaysia

the one with black rim is Orzly bumper casing.
Pros:
- fit the 950XL nicely, and it kinda levitate the screen, so it wont touch the surface when facing down
- easy to remove too for cleaning.

Cons:
- the material used feel kinda cheap

the one with gold trim is Ghostek cloak series. the side trim are aluminum frame (that's what the website says) and the back is TPU.
Pros:
- The aluminum frame does feel sturdy and the back TPU dont feel cheap.
- make the phone feel a little more premium due the aluminum frame
- the case frame is a little thick, so it should provide decent against drops at the edge of the phone

Cons
- this case is hard to remove. see the pic attached and you will a dust in the casing which i didnt notice when putting it, wanted to remove it, but honestly is kinda hard to take out, so i'll just leave it as it is for now...
- those who are using 3rd party USB 3.0 cable, will have to check if their cable fit the phone. this is because the casing cutting is just nice for the original USB 3.0 cable that comes with the phone, any bigger and it wont fit.

for now i'm using the Ghostek casing, after a couple of months using the Orzly casing.
