Hi everybody. Need your advice. Booked a Peugeot 408 and loan approved & signed early of April 2016 from Peugeot Setia Alam. Was given a two weeks delivery time. So ETA was 22nd April 2016. Now it is 29 April 2016 and I still have no idea when I will get the car. Branch said HQ still not allocating cars and HQ says got system problem. So can I cancel the order or should I wait for few more years for car to arrive? Thank you..

Hi SKYjack, its the pre-facelift 408 (not e-thp). Booked during 32k++ discount. According to salesman, got some problem at PDI. So all cars still stuck in stockyard coz cannot be allocated to buyers. It has been nearly 4 weeks.. dry.gif cry.gif

Haven't gotten mine yet. Two days ago faxed a letter to bank and dealer to cancel loan and car booking. Suddenly today said car already in Kajang waiting to be processed. Will get latest by next Thursday.

You remember I said our champions are complacent! Your fax to dealer was a kick on his backside to get moving.

You're correct, sir. Even the bank called me asked not to cancel the loan. So, for the 1st time in many weeks, its the dealer who update me on the status. Not me asking the dealer on daily basis.

Hi bro, Have u gotten your ride? I'm suppose to get mine by this week.... but now yet getting it....😥😥

Hi, supposed to get it by last friday. The dealer has shown the car picture to me via whatsapp. So I just believe him (for now). It just that he said the bank/dealer need to change the Letter of Undertaking (LU) before bank fully transfer the money. I believe they have gotten the car from different dealer. He said by Monday/Tuesday all JPJ related transactions will be settled.

Hi garf & savvy savvy

Did both of you finally get your car?

My loan was approved last week but the latest I heard from Peugeot was that I would only get my 408T in July.

Hi, today went to JPJ (with the salesman) for transfer of ownership from company to my name. Expected to collect my car tomorrow since today I need to go back to office (after JPJ session) for meeting.

My 408T's air-cond compressor gone kaput (make grinding noise) two days ago. Called Peugeot Setia Alam and was told that at their place already got 1 car with same problem as me and the parts has not arrived yet (even though order made 2 months ago).

Need advise from you guys, any recommended Peugeot service center that i can check for aircond compressor stock?

Kindly advise.

Best Regards,
Amir

I used to service my car at this place when I owned a Proton Savvy. Better set appointment since many customers there. ;-)

I owned a Peugeot 408T since 2016. Very satisfying drive and good fuel consumption. Already driven 49,000 km todate. However, today something weird happened. After travelled from Johor to KL, I stop for car wash.

Suddenly just 5 km from home the car shuddered (bergegar) and then the engine dies off. Stop for few minutes, the car able to start but when engage to D the car were hesitant to move and the dies of again. Waited 10 minutes and the car able to move again, but once reach rome, I was having difficulties in reversing coz the car were hesitant to reverse (high tendency to die off and not moving in reverse).

Has called Peugeot Care, but since all centres are closed today, they asked me to call again tomorrow to arrange check.

What is the expected cause for this issue? Anyone experience the same issue? Already changed HPFP last year (recall), cooling coil & compressor (recall & warranty claim), and roof cloth (warranty claim).

Did you quarrel with the car wash people?

Frankly speaking can't really say as many reasons to shaking/lack power engine. CEL should already shows up? No? At 7sch manner It could be ignition coil or spark plug though or anything related to fuel line.

No error come out. Will check with service centre soon. After went out from car wash still ok. Travelled around 10km only then the issue hapened.

Will not drive the car this week.

I can start the engine, idling seems normal (or not.. Since its rpm around 800). The problem happens when I engage in Drive or Reverse gear, the car seems to die off or not moving. More apparent in reverse mode since I manage to drive car home yesterday.

Will be only able to check this weekend coz going outstation this week, but not with 408.

I just managed to claim my aircond compressor and condenser for the second time within two years. 1st claim was in Jan 2018, 2nd was this month.. But before that, claimed roof lining, abs sensor, engine mounting back in Jan 2019.

From what i've observed, so far Peugeot is quite good in warranty claims,
currently my preferred SC is in Klang since quite easy n fast to set appointment, compared to KL side.

Since my 3 years warranty finished this May.. I better claim whatever I can claim (if its faulty). If there is a call for free replacement, should be okay I guess.

Hi all Peugeot 408 car owner,

Recently i got a call from Peugeot Malaysia that call back my 408 to replace my air con some part (sorry can't remember the name)
The caller mentioned that the part and labor are free.
Anyone receive this call from Nazim?

Secondly my 408 is about 100k mileage now and going to change the timing belt. Anyone know how much is it?

Thanks!

Hi guys, quick question. Any tyre recommendations for 1.6turbo version?
I'm on a budget at the moment, didn't realize the thread until service time, so didn't budgeted for tyre change

Hello there!

My head is swimming with info about tires at the moment. Could someone help a brother out?

Currently using the MC5 on the 1.6 Turbo. Looking to change them.

Reading reviews, there's a whole plethora of good reviews for this or that...Doesn't help in the decision making. It's like a bloody rabbit hole sweat.gif

Anyways, I've narrowed it down to:

1) Conti MC6
2) Hankook S1 Noble 2

However, these following tires have come up in the discussion as well:

1) Hankook V12 evo2 (this one comes up a lot, but wear and tear seems to be an issue?)
2) Goodyear Excellence (Came up once or twice in this thread)
3) Advan Fleva (Scattered across the forum. Usually comes up when MC 5/6 is mentioned)
4) Dayton DT 30 (this was recommended by someone in one of the 408's thread. Might be this one)

PS3/4 - This seems to be highly praised. Alas, the price is out of my budget. Sooo yeah. That's a no.

Would really appreciate some input guys. Or at the very least, point me in the right direction...what should I be looking out for? icon_question.gif
*
What do you want to look out for? Budget? Comfort? Performance? Cheapest available?

As for me, I go for low budget with good review, and as well s comfort.

Just changed from MC5 225/45R17 to GY Excellence 215/50R17 today. Since the tyre still new, cannot put up review yet. But for 1st 20km, performed as expected. Since me more towards leisure drive. Not yet test on highway.

The MC5 I'm currently using is actually not too bad. I'm looking for something that retains its handling but with a little bit more comfort. The only time when I need exceptional handling is when I go through Karak/genting. Only happens once or twice a year though.

I think I too am a more laid back driver. Unless I hit the highway...then it becomes a bit more of a spirited drive.

How is it changing from a 225/45 to 215/50? I'd imagine better comfort and FC. Or is it negligible? 215/50 is much cheaper as opposed to 225/45 right?
*
Driving experience too early to tell. But, yeah.. Its cheaper than the original size.
