Mine is 2016 408TLE version which does no entitle for this extension.
Luckily my lion is still under pristine condition after 1.5 years.
I yet to plan to activate the recall program for my car since most of the parts are still fine working condition.

Will be sending my car to Peugeot SC the second time to fix the keyless lock and unlock function after the technicians screwed that up when they were fixing the massage function. Haha, Pugs are crazier than french girls.

Hi all,

My 408 got the "Engine Fault - Repair Needed" pop up message again.
This time they checked and suspected engine oil leaking.
After topped up 1L, they ask me to monitor 1k mileage before sending back SC again for the scan. If confirm leaking, they will request HQ to replace the engine for me under the 7yr warranty.
Any guys have this problem so far? Is it the Turbo problem someone had mentioned earlier?
Not sure when they said replace engine, is it really the whole engine?

Hi all bro here. I am has targeted the Peugeot 408 on 1.6 Turbo year 2016. It has at this one used car shop in Kajang. First time just see only and this car look like new one. Get the particular and check with Peugeot service center. Found all the service is been follow and the millage also similar with actual in car. The SC also confirm no major part replacement due to guarantee. And this car still have guarantee until March 2021. And for second time go to shop for test drive with wifey. Found the car is perform well and we quit satisfy. With OTR price just around RM 38K. For me it really value for money.
Anyhow, I am would like to get more input and comment as I am very weird that how 3 year old car that price RM 120k for new one can be sold not enough 35% of it original price. Why the resale value is very low. And if possible other input before I am going to put deposit. Thanks in advance and if put in wrong forum.. Forgive me ya...

Here's another confirmation on SCs poor quality of work and maybe more!

6 months ago I went in for timming chain recall. It was the 7th year of ownership & ther was nothing wrong with my car. The old timming was working fine apart from the cold start clatter for a few seconds.

However, as timming chain is a critical equipment, if it snaps serious and expensive damage is likely and a recall is a rengineered component, I decided to get it changed!

Damn, 6 months later, cold start clatter is more serious! Apart form the clatter for a few seconds,there is additional sound of chain hitting its guides! Its a loud wierd sound for 1 second or more!

Although it only happens on cold starts and dissapears, nevertheless, it is classice example of poor quality of work!

Maybe the old tensioner was put back as it probably was in resonable shape then! Of course receipt indicates change! I have no way of confirming, just dont trust SC!!!

That is pretty heavy,its about 1liter/500km. I would have loved to know the causes!

Normal oil consumption for Prince engine is 1liter/5kkm.

This shop is outsourced by Peugeot for air cons. As a result thye are well versed with Peugeot. No 'tikus' after the reassemble dashboard!

Unfortunately there is no service schedule for aircon. I didn't do any thing for 4 years. One fine day compressor kong! Got it replaced & mechanic told me this model is built to European spec, as such needs service once a year!

Yes mismatched spring & absorber will cause damage to absorber.  It's best to get some professional advise!

This cabon cleaner additive works on piston only. Since its added to fuel, the vales do not get cleaned. Quite alot of carbon builds up behind valve area. That needs to be cleaned also. My sggestion would be walnut blast. I'm waiting on interstate travell lift. Already made appointment at Renautech for walnut blast with major service.

These are damn good. But problem in getting new Peugeot in Malaysia is poor RV. When you get tired of it & want to sell to move on to something better, you are stuck with poor RV!

Gais... My pug is due for service but mileage managed to clock 3,500 km since the last service. Less driving due to movement restriction for the past few months. I am thinking to wait until 5,000 km before sending the car for service. Shall i do that?
