Hi guys,

Today sent in my 408 NA at Penang SC to change the front shock absorber ( foc ).
Felt not right though the tire thread does not show any abnormal wear & tear.
Complaint made last June 2018.

Good response from Penang SC.

Anyway, considering all and all about Pug' s after sales & service , I still love to drive it.

Yes. The car still under warranty. I suspect it might be due to poor installation on the low pressure fuel pump replacement during the last recall. Otherwise, it could be the plastic connector crack, not too sure unless the car is lifted.

It's not really risky, the car is still safe to drive, just not really comfortable with the gasoline fume when standing at the back or side of the car. No gasoline fume in the cabin though. it's not the first time I encounter such issue. It was on other car though. It only leak a little bit if the fuel tank is fully refill. Of course I will act like very serious and nervous when sending the car to service center tomorrow.

Thanks for sharing.

If convenient, do keep us posted on the progress.

Update to the fuel leak issue.

Service center has done checking it is the fuel pump leaking. Luckily the part is ready from vendor, so they will replace it with new set of fuel pump assembly. Will need to leave the car in service center for 2 days.

Indeed very lucky the part is available thumbup.gif .

me using 408 (2.0) since Year 2012, already the 7th Years and still good for me and no major issue.

I have a practice to allocate RM500 per month for all expenses related to the car which include road tax, insurance, service, maintenance, repair and even monthly car wash and yearly polish wax. (exclude petrol)

as at to-date, the fund accumulated still + and therefore still using the car which is comfortable.

Major repair is only on air cond system which I replaced few parts and cost RM3k+

For your current servicing, may I ask which workshop you are using ?
Mine 408 (2.0) warranty just over ( 100,000 km ), registered in March 2017.

Thanks,

Hi guys,

My 3 years old 408 2.0 mileage have hit 117K and now due for 2nd major service.
SC have quoted around 2.8K.

I plan to do it at Renau Tech as the cost will be lower.

Before proceeding , I would like to ask fellow 408 2.0 owners whether the likelihood of major mechanical issues will pop out during the 4th or 5th year.

My pug warranty is 3+2 years.

Thanks in advance for everyone who have kindly share their experience.

IMO the +2 warranty is useless. It dosen't cover a lot of items. The recall program that Peugeot puts out ocassionally is much more valuable and it FOC!

NA gb is known to require maintenance along the line. This is not very expensive, Renautech is very capable in handling this issue.

I'd say go ahead and do the service with Renautech. Even with my THP, I decided to stop servicing at Peugeot SC on 4th year! Found quality of service at Renautech much better than SC! 9th year now, no regretts, my car is in top shape!

Thanks and appreciated your opinion.

Will try to fix this Friday with Renau Tech.

Maybe you can youtube search "car window not smooth" .. there are some technique like apply some wd40 so and so .. cheap to have a try.
*
Actually, it was replaced back in 2019 under Warranty.

Anyway, thanks for the replied.

Hi  anyone renew their 2012 insurance lately? May I know what is the market value? My insurer told me rm28k. Too high isn't it?
*
Hi,
Normally insurance company valuation are higher.
Theirs are not based on buying or selling price which is very inconsistent.
Mine is Y2016 , with add on for Betterment cover so as in the event of repair claim, I can send in to Peugeot 4S.
Peace of mind for me.

Guys,

My friend workshop recommend to use Shell or Castrol 5W 30 fully synthetic oil as they don't have Mobil brand.

Is it suitable for my Y2016 408 2.0 ?
Thanks.

No, if this 408 is Euro-related. May or may not include China Peugeout.
Check with your manual which should likely specify a Peugeot approved oil.

Thanks Zeng, but the manual only specify the type and viscosity.
