QUOTE(Interestedd @ Jun 6 2017, 12:08 AM) Hello, does anyone know of any good rooms near MMU Cyberjaya? Cyberia Smarthomes - I stayed thoughout my Degree years in E-Block.Am looking for one which is: -walking distance to campus -cooking is allowed (has a stove) -private room -attached bathroom* (not necessary, but is a bonus) P.S. I've been looking into Cyberia SmartHomes but seen it has gained some bad rep.? Can someone confirm this? Thanks a lot in advance. The main advantage is that it is VERY close to MMU if you're staying in E-block but you need an access card for the small gate, if not mistaken I think need RM 50 for it not sure about the price now. Overall, it was a good stay for E-block if you ask me. What was the bad reputation again ? Was it the forced access cards for all residents using the small gate to MMU while they knew that most of them are MMU students ? I am not sure about other places though, but if you have other choices maybe can consider about it. |

The lifts are also being repaired. Maintenance wise, I think it should be more on A,B and C-block's lifts. the bad reputation was only about maintenance (at least from what i heard). Once I went to my friend's unit in the B block, the lift was not working though, my friend told me it has been since like for a week or 2 and I had to climb up like 3-4 flight of stairs But for E-block I don't think there's any maintenance to do, aside from sweeping the pavements ? Maybe ? Oh and if TS is planning to stay in Cyberia, do note that every Wednesday evening there will be fogging around to prevent Aedes Mosquitoes from breeding. On a side-note, now that new mangement has taken over I assume that perhaps you guys can see a big improvement on Cyberia ? Haha, guess it's not my luck to experience it as I had just finished my studies. This post has been edited by eClIpSe_R3tr0: Jun 15 2017, 10:35 PM |

Hello, I'll be joining FIT Cyberjaya this July in Foundation in IT and planning to further my study in BoCS specialized in Game Development..
I have a few questions regarding a few clubs that I'm interested in joining. 1) Basketball club: Is this club still active? Does it join any tournaments nationwide/internationally? Achievements? What are the fixed time and days (or the usual time and days) for practice? And where do they practice? 2) Aikido club: Same questions as #1 3)Emina: Still active? Any recent activities and events? What do the club usually do? Oh and do the club attend any Anime or similar expo (I.e. ComicFest, Penang Anime Matsuri, etc.)? 4)Game Developers club: Still active? Oh also, how big is a triple-sharing room for the on-campus male hostel? I'll be bringing in my PC with me, and since I don't have any internal WiFi card installed, may I use cable instead in the hostel? Thanks in advance.. |

The triple sharing room depends if you get the single or bunk bed (usually the seniors will chop the single). The room is not that big, not sempit either. Should be fine if ur just gonna be on the PC, and there is a LAN port for each person. Top bunk no fan = die (better sleep on floor).I have a few questions regarding a few clubs that I'm interested in joining. 1) Basketball club: Is this club still active? QUOTE(MaHooo @ Jun 6 2017, 06:09 AM) The only one in walking distance is Cyberia, but gonna be hard to get a single room except for the lower floor one which is really small. If u dont mind sweating when u have afternoon classes, can go crescent or the arc which has single rooms at 250+. What kind of bad rep btw? The area or housing? QUOTE(masternobody @ Jun 6 2017, 09:04 AM) I've stayed at the Arc and Cyberia. So far Cyberia is the best choice. The Arc - rent is usually 1600 - 1800 per unit. 400 - 550 per room ( the rooms are all similar in size except for corner unit) - water bill is high (management controlled. I think they overcharge the water bill. had to pay around 40-50 with 6 people in the house without washing machine!) - electricity is high (for block A and B. uses top up card. had to pay around 250 per month without even using a/c!) Cyberia Townvilla 2 - rent around 1600 - 2000 per unit. 250 - 650 per room (depending on room) - water bill is low (management controlled. had to pay around 20 with 6 people in the house + washing machine!) - electricity pay directly to TNB (around half of what im paying in the Arc per month without a/c but with 2 fridge!) I heard cyberia management is doing some maintenance work to beautify the place. some blocks have new paint, some roads are being repaired, some lifts are being repaired. QUOTE(eClIpSe_R3tr0 @ Jun 14 2017, 11:52 PM) Cyberia Smarthomes - I stayed thoughout my Degree years in E-Block. Hey, guys. I really appreciate you guys taking the time out to reply, thanks a lot. The main advantage is that it is VERY close to MMU if you're staying in E-block but you need an access card for the small gate, if not mistaken I think need RM 50 for it not sure about the price now. I am not sure about other places though, but if you have other choices maybe can consider about it. Referring to what I've heard about Cyberia Smarthomes were things like: 1. Place being overly cramped 2. Dirty 3. Fights breaking out often at night 4. May get noisy at night (parties etc.) 5. Bad management These were the things I remember being told to me. And since I didn't want to take the chance of possibly dealing with these problems, the place wasn't at the top of my list. Btw, are skinny jeans allowed on the Cyberjaya campus? |
