New examination system starting next semester.

You need to score both 50% on carry mark and final exam.

No more simply pass the subject by scoring minimum required marks from the final.

Has it been officially endorsed yet? Only for engineering or all faculties?

So that means if carry mark total is 35% and final exam 65%. Need to score at least minium 17.5% for carry marks and final exam 32.5% ? That is not balance actually because different student have different ways to score for their exam. Some student really good at final exam but flops their carry marks and vice versa.

Yup, atleast kena score 50% from your finals.

Because they received some complaint that many student suka cheating the system and passed the subject by scoring minimum required percentage of marks from the finals.

No more simply 32/40 carry mark + 18/60 final = 50% pass. Still consider as fail.

hmmmm.
ideally yes.
but the concept of transferring from courses to courses means that u will have to retake most of the subjects.

*you can only credit transfer 'same' subjects under different foundation
eg: Academic/Essential/XX English / Critical thinking / etc

*you will not be able to transfer subjects which are having a different code/name even though the content of the subjects is 'almost' similiar

FIST & FCI have already started the

"Surmative" & "Formative" system on last year 2016 June,
officially announced last year.

it means that:
you will have to scored
50% of total coursework + 40% of final exam
(to be considered pass for the subjects)

ohhhh, and based on FIST,

the 50% cw & 40% final does not apply for MPU subjects.

the reason they apply this new 'rules' is due to some MQA and stuff.

--> they wanted to build students which can handle technical programming (cw) & doing final exam at the same time....

*because some students actually get 56/60 for some programming subjects, but scored like 1/40 from the final exam XD
