I'm currently using Unifi 20 package and has been harassed by TM staff past 4 weeks to upgrade to 50MBPS plan with call package at RM249 excluding GST which I refused.

Today I got a call from one of their managers in TM HQ asking me the reason why I don't want to opt for the new package eventough I have given them my reasons. Finally, they offered me RM229 with free calls package (worth 600 minutes to all network) + HypptTV package for free and they even cancel my current contract which had 1 year 2 months more remaining and will prepare new 24 months contract at no extra charge.

I accepted it as the offer was way to tempting  rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif

**The only catch was my contract will be auto renewed to 24 months starting today**

Summary: Free Upgrade to 50mbps at no extra cost (Only upload speed affected from 20mbps to 10mbps but its acceptable)

*Guess TM is desperate to pull their customer vase volume towards them.
*
Mazda9, is this your new subsciption i presume:

= Unifi advance 30mb (rm169) + upgrade to 50mb (rm50) + Hypptv Aneka (rm30) + free calls package (rm0 because tm call u) + special discount promo (minus rm20)

= rm169 + rm50 + rm30 + rm0 - rm20

= rm229

Lucky u have free voice pack.... more lucky if i'm wrong about you have hypptv AnekaPack, instead they ™ give you Jumbo pack with that price rm30.

I wonder if I can opt for the ADV30 package and get the 600 min free calls... I shall walk into TM Point tomorrow to find out.
*
You have to be called by TM Sales Marketing to get free voice pack for Unifi Advance. Meaning to say like the chosen one.

Yes I got 50MBPS + Free Jumbo pack (By default I got to choose one but since I was a pain in the #$% I demanded and they agreed to throw in). Just before I hang up, replayed whatever I agreed with TM and they repeated the same.
I told them I to recorded their conversation and you don't wanna mess with me as my spouse is lawyer  hmm.gif

They just laughed and agreed so guess they gave in as I was being hard in not entertaining them from start.

*Also checking with TM insider, that's the best deal they can throw and no more super deals beyond mine as that's the last case resort in getting customer to sign up. My advise to you guys would be, when they call you.dont agree fast fast..give them a hard time and consumers are always right  notworthy.gif

Lucky indeed... marvelous to know that you can squeeze to Jumbo.

Quote you "I was a pain in the #$%"

No Pain, No Gain. Great to know your experience...

what is the reasonable plug and play replacement router for unifi & hypptv below RM500 ?  i know the among the best is Asus RT AC68U, but this is way above my budget

i may need something with stronger antenna as my unifi port is boing to be below the stairs store room (maybe hard to get signal on 2nd floor)

As i understood from a few forum mentioned the stock router they give maxed out on 20mbps on wifi , hence even if you have 30mbps or 50mbps connection is a waste unless use lan cable

appreciate all advice and feedback, thank you in advance

Hello vanses,

When and where did your office buy the rt-ac55uhp router?

If it still under rm400, interested in buying it.

The price is almost the same as rt-n14uhp... need to top up a bit...

Hi, that Add on RM 20 voice pack free 600 min talktime include to other telco like celcom, maxis, digi and etc or just fixed line?
*
600 minute including fix and other mobile (digi, maxis, celcom....etc)

After 600 minute, fix line still free, but call to mobile will be 10sen/m

This voice pack is better than vip package (only fix line free, mobile call will be charge) because we can get 10 hours of call to mobile...

Dear knowledgable forum,

If i need to buy a lan cable for my unifi router to my hypptv box. Longer one...

Can i buy any lan cable rj45 in the store out there (prepack)?

I sometime heard the term "pc to pc" & "pc to network", is it important.?

Don't want to buy the cable then cannot be used...

Actually, there is a difference. PC-to-PC cables are also known as crossed cables and are used to connect a PC to another PC directly without going through a router or a switch. PC-to-network cables are also known as straight cables and are used to connect PC to router or switch.  These cables differ in the way the 4 pairs of cables inside it are crimped.

However, most equipment nowadays are smart enough to be able to use both types of cables regardless. So it does not make a difference which type of cables you use.

The most common type of cables sold in shops are straight cables.

So... i have to look for cable named "straight cables" (usually prepack in computer shop) to connect my router to unifi hypptv box. Is it correct?
