anyone else using  unifi 30mbps ? what kinda of speeds are you seeing when torrent :/ ?

for me i notice foreign sources, but the speed will only max out at tops 2MB/s rather than 3.75 MB/s

thats roughly 60 ish% of total download speed for 30mbps for international sources :{

is anyone getting a different result ? Not sure if i should complain to tmnut ..... (they normally only bother about local speed -.-; )

so effectively i'm only just getting a little bit more than 1.2MB/s from my previous 10mbps, but upload down from 10mbps to 5mbps.

from my logs for 1 torrent download you can see precisely where my download maxes out. i even conveniently highlighted it in a red box  sad.gif

I also checked my tixati torrent client to see what countries the peers were from. none of them were locally malaysian or singaporean. so truly international peers  hmm.gif

torrent is well seeded, so i doubt that is the issue  rolleyes.gif
other than torrent speed issue, my second issue is with gaming latency. normally i'd get 200ms-230ms to the US which was fine for me. but lately it's been quite slow, 300ms+ spiking up to 1k ms..... this is very unplayable in Diablo 3, as in worse case i'm usually lagging 20 seconds behind whats actually happening in game. So you can imagine how bad that is while doing grift 63s..... i just could not keep up with the group cause i kept dying because i could not see what was going on in real time X_X:

this latency issue tends to occur sometime around late evening... it gets pronounced around this period  shakehead.gif
from my own real world testing, youtubr 1080p @ 60 fps video takes little time to cache, and play. doesn't stutter while waiting on loading more content in cache, so it plays smoothly. even when fast forward timeline it caches in the same quick amount of time by few seconds only. This is definitely better than before on 10mbps where using the same quality settings, it would stutter because the download could not keep up to keep a smooth viewing experience.

as such for youtube i don't have an issue doh.gif

haven't tested for 4k reso netflix :/ but i don't have 4k monitor so .... lel

How much u paying for 30mbps? Did TM offer you free TM to TM calls?

TM telemarketing called me and offered 30mbps Jumbo pack for RM 219 with TM to TM free calls remains...

So I decided to walk in to TM point to verify this and according to TMpoint staff there is no such thing as TM to TM free calls even if their sales/telemarketing teams calls to offer.

I am really confused with this matter icon_question.gif

ftth fiber ;x not vdsl unifi.
paying same price as 10mbps package before.

Any free calls TM to TM ?

then if like this, there should be no reason why i am hard capped to 15mbps rather than 30mbps for international. guess i'll lodge a complaint then :/ I'll run a few more tests first just in case...
apparently that may be the case for me  sad.gif

181ms is quite good. normally i'd expect 200-230ms on a normal day. maybe switching from googledns to opendns is better then ?

but the 18mbps falls far too short from 30mbps .... or even a 80% of that....

and i'm pretty sure if i ran the same test late in the evening the speed will drop down to under 5mbps ....

so far are you satisfied with ur 30mbps compare to previous 10mbps ?

in speedtest you can select the server location.

normally i'd pick western us because the AAG landing point is situated there. cause that would be the fastest possible to US doh.gif compared to us east coast i would think.

technically hawaii would be fastest because it reaches there before the mainland  laugh.gif

youtube not smooth now. is something going on ?

prebuffering like watch 5-10 second, then it pauses to buffer for like 6 seconds, and repeats.... this is annoying...

-No more branding Streamyx
-All start with UniFi from 1 Mbps till 50Mbps.Will have their own variants.100Mbps maybe next year.
-FTTH will start from 30Mbps.No more 5/10/20 after this for FTTH
-VDSL and ADSL will cater 20Mbps and below
-Don’t expect pricing cut but more on values add in. biggrin.gif
*
What is FTTH? Fiber to Home ?

That means no more 5/10/20mbps for home users?
