QUOTE(hotdog @ Jan 1 2007, 06:07 PM) The reason Nano 8GB is priced similarly to the Video 30GB is because the former is based on flash memory while the Video 30GB is obviously based on a mini HDD. 8GB of flash memory on a such a small device do cost some money since there aren't much space for more flash modules other than to utilize high capacity ones.As a result, the Nano could be very power efficient for its incredibly slim size since it only needs to power the flash and system electronics while the Video 30GB apart from other electronics, still have a spinning HDD to manage. Reliability for the Nano is improved since there's no spinning mechanical devices. You could drop a Nano and still operate within its normal parameters. Of course the Video 30GB should be able to manage a short fall, but anything exceeding that it would be disastrous. Then there's the 'anti-skipping' feature which is natural for flash based mp3 players. Some people say they can't jog with a Video 30GB but that depends. |

QUOTE(kwekeugene @ Jan 20 2007, 11:33 AM) Well my nano has 1.78 Gb. And it wont sync photos if the free space is less than 50 meg. But i rather have more songs and artworks than photos anyway.. QUOTE(heidityj @ Jan 20 2007, 03:48 PM) Nice casing you have there.. |

Yup. You need to run Linux on your iPod. It can be done though I don't know if your eyes would appreciate it on that tiny screen.....

Last time i check those linux version of ipod nano, it said that you need convert the video into raw format or what in order to playback the video. It's a pretty big file size. It's not worth. That's what i know back then. Now maybe they fix that or what. |
