I just went for a joyride.

Took the Iriz for a run, went up to 4k rpm/120+km/h and heard the VVT breathing/roaring to life.  icon_idea.gif

Btw, CVT huh... From 0-100+ the speed just climbs and climbs. Like a train feeling. It just goes faster & faster. No gear changes, no upshift jerks/lags, smooth all the way. If one doesn't pay attention to the speedo, could be totally oblivious towards driving speed.  brows.gif

Btw want to ask for 1.3 CVT, what is the rpm @ speed.

Mine is 2.6k-ish rpm @ 100km/h but 2.9k~3k rpm @ 110km/h.

Is it correct?
*
Took my one to drive to Melaka last Thursday, 120km/h+ at about 3k rpm thou thumbup.gif

1.3 Owners what tyre pressure you guys use? 210kpa / 30psi ?
*
I just wanted to ask this question, bro you read my mind.

Yeah, that's what it says on the recommendation but then I always feel like my front tyres are kinda flat at that tyre pressure.

guys, second day of driving and i ve found out that the dashboard started to have some rattling sounds. so how do you guys fix this issue?

another thing is the screw (4 in total) of the sports rim, 2 out of 4 are rusted. can i request the sc to change them?
*
No rattling sounds for me though, but the rusting I also had that problem and No worries, you can tell your SC during the service and they will replace it for you foc. Changed mine at the 227 service centre in PJ.

great minds think alike  tongue.gif Maybe can follow bro adijib's reply below. 220.

btw you did 1k service already?
Why when wanna go outstation or heavy rain set at 210 and other times 220? Idk about all these tyre pressure stuffs.

My basic understanding of tyre pressure is (do share knowledge & correct me if wrong):

1) Higher tyre pressure = will give better FC but ride will be bumpier?
2) pump tyres when car haven't travel around? If car traveled quite some distance, must increase by how much kpa/psi over the usual?
*
Yeah just did it right before driving to Melaka, quite quick and they actually allowed me to go into the workshop and watch the mechanic change the Engine oil etc, and I just stood there as the mechanic's supervisor explained to me what's going on and stuff like that.

As for tyre pressure, I guess he set it low cause has more grip(?) since there's more tyre surface in contact with the ground~ just what I think it is laa, hahaha icon_rolleyes.gif

Does anyone know of a good SC around the Puchong, Putrajaya, or Cyberjaya area? I'm 300 km from my first 1000 km service. I don't want to have to leave my car for a whole day. I used to have a Myvi and I remember my services could be completed in around two or three hours. Is this possible too with Proton?

I've heard a few Iriz owners saying that they've had to leave their cars for two days for simple little things. I have no complaints, sounds, rattles or anything but I want to take it for service soon and not end up without a car for a few days.
*
Try calling the SC for service booking.
If you book a timeslot beforehand, they will complete your car in less than 3 hours. Did my 1K at PJ 227 there, Mine took right about 2 hours to complete, from handover, to waiting, to collecting the car.

Huhuhuhuh..

Today.. After 1 week+ of ownership. I underestimated the length of the car, and went into a parking lot deeper than I should. I scratched my front bumper down there, I think it's the bodykit that I scratched.  cry.gif  cry.gif  mega_shok.gif

Scratched against the curb. It was a painful sound. Front view no damage, have to bend down and look only can see the damage (thank god no front view damage)

As bro cwkc93 punya wise words. "Oh well take it as the car sudah "dirasmikan" or "officiated" for our non-BM speaking owners."  sweat.gif

So guys, where can I buy this EzyTouchUp Paint? and how much does the bottle cost?
*
Dayum bro, that's gotta hurt. Anyway, I got mine from sunway pyramid jusco, for 59 bucks. Has a 3 step bottle inside including a clearcoat for afterwards.

Ahh not much diff then 59 vs 63. I guess im gonna order it online since petrol and parking to jusco also more than 4 bucks dy.. rm63 for 4 bottles. (Basecoat, clearcoat, wax&grease remover, rubbing compound)

Are you satisfied with the product though?
*
Just so-so, if you have good painting skills and patience up to 2 hours(unlike me) then you'd be super satisfied, it covers up well, but not perfect

The moment when a butt on the highway who thinks his "TRD" body kit Vios is a supercar speeds up to you and shines you to get away, and you smoke him in your small car Iriz. heh.

Just hantam the rpm above 4K~5K and feel the roar, then they trailing behind dy, can't even catch up fast enough, hahahahahaha icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(adijb @ Oct 16 2015, 07:23 AM)
1.6 can do that, although the 1.6's torque is just slightly more than vios and city, though with cvt we can get instance max torque easily. A turbo one would put it to rest totally.. biggrin.gif
*
Oh man, I can just imagine a Turbo Iriz, and what's good is that it's in testing now, so probably can swap swap engine thumbup.gif

the main thing that ppl always address/critic bout iriz is cvt

sluggish la, noisy la, the worst cvt la

i know it actually vvt kicks in, but i changed to cvt to show that the so called 'crappy/sluggish' cvt can actually do well to increase the torque  tongue.gif
*
thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

edit: Tbh this cvt doesn't feel as sluggish as some other cvt cars I've tried out before, it does what it promises: a smooth ride, and power when needed.

You guys have a very misguided understanding of how VVT works  sweat.gif ...VVT doesn't "kick-in". That torque surge at 4k RPM has nothing to do with VVT, it simply is just the characteristic of a DOHC Campro engine, with or without VVT.
*
Ooh good to know, thanks

Maybe they think VVT is the same with VTEC engine huhuhu

actually that's what I thought at first, didn't know it's just the Dohc characteristics

Just broke my radio antenna, too long tbh, and probably a bird hit it while I was driving... anybody knows where can I get those tiny ones as replacement?

Heheh it is fine! really.

But trust me, if u drive on straight highways, 120 will be boring with this car. Very smooth, stable.

Me on highways, i dont usuually speed. Normally middle lane but end up on right lane to overtake, next thing i know is 140-160 alraedy without flooring the pedal and still going smooth.

Plennty of wind noise though
*
Overtake surprisingly easy even tho with cvt. Plus smooth all the way very comfortable. And like your experience don't even realise you're hitting the max speed capability of the car xD Always Hit 160 without realising also, get it all the time.

I also need to rest my hand on the door to stop the rattle.
*
I also just rest my hand on the door, as if it's the screw or something that holds the panels to the door is loose or something. hahaha, another thing about the passenger side dashboard, if you guys hear any rattling from that side instead, just open ur glovebox and look inside, there's some sound absorbing material that's stick onto the inside part, just reach ur hand in and push it against the wall of the inside of the dashboard, I noticed that on very hot days the adhesive would just release itself and causes it to fall down, so I bought some 3m double side tape and dah no passenger side dashboard rattles.

Wanna ask, you guys air-cond temperature set at what level? Coolest? Or middle?

I used to set it at middle temp. It used to be cold enough, but lately it's losing it's cool. So now I set it to coolest (maximum). On shady or cold days, it gets really cold. But on sunny day it's just nice.. I feel the air-cond on Iriz not as cold as other Proton cars  hmm.gif  hmm.gif

Is it just me or you guys feel the same way?
*
I put it in the middle, yours losing it's cool? Need a gas refill eh? mine is still cold for me.. btw, you just had yours for less than 2 months right?
