here's a test on win7 32bit, in terms of startup:
fast: ie
med: chrome
med slow: opera / vivaldi
slow: firefox

IE is fast because no one really use it anymore, if you dont install any addons, any browser will be fast at start up.

Chrome = Opera = Vivaldi = Edge, same shit, different user interface.
Firefox = Gecko.

not really. i'm testing on rigs with dual core cpu & 2GB ddr2 / 4GB ddr3 on 32bit windows.

in terms of ram usage (best to worse):
ie > edge > chrome > ff

Windows 7?
I tried IE a lot for fallback incase some website does not work, IE is the worst browser lol, most of the time it's just spinning circle, aka unresponsive.

IE currently is the only way to play youtube in h264, old GPU definitely need it because in other browser it play VP9 instead, will choke any low end CPU to death.

new browser will make used of Direct2D/WebGL with GPU acceleration, http://www.fishgl.com/ is one of the example, if you lurking long enough you probably know Quake2 and CS1.6 can be played in browser already.

It's kinda depends on system as well.
