Called some random SA from Mudah and he offered me RM6k rebate for all the ASX variants (facelifted). Is it a good deal or there are better ones out there?

QUOTE(TheRedDevil @ Nov 4 2015, 08:37 PM) Ohh not sure about that as I never bothered to enquire about the 4WD version but I suppose he might. Apart from that, any feedback about the sound system in either FL or pre-FL? Not much comments on that though. |

I test drove the 4WD FL version that day (too bad as they didn't had the 2WD unit).
Overall I am happy with the performance. However, I got a few questions: 1) May I know what is the exact issue with the pre-FL unit in regards to rear seat? Is it because of the small rear legroom or non-reclining seats or perhaps both? In the FL version, I am not sure but the rear legroom still looks a bit small to me. 2) In the FL version, can we play movie files directly from thumb drives? (e.g. .avi, .mp4, .mpeg etc.). 3) As an ASX owner, what are the reactions/comments that you get from others when they see your ride? Cheers. |

It seems that you guys are complaining about the infotainment system; is it the old system or the new facelifted system? Or are both the same? (As I remember, the old one is Kenwood and the new one is Clarion).
I just got my ride a week ago and will be playing around with the system in a day or two. So, from what I could see, installing custom apps (Waze, etc.) is a no? |

QUOTE(CuriOu5 @ Dec 8 2015, 03:08 PM) How can the world most used navigation system be illegal. The original Clarion AX1 has Waze installed. Are they collaborating with iGO so that we have to pay for the maps update in future. Third parties infotainment can install Waze. I just shoot them an email as well - For Waze and for other basic apps such as PDF Reader, Calendar and etc. to be included in their Infogo App Garage the most. Can every owners of ASX with the Clarion OEM please bombard MMM how back dated they are and request for Waze to be included in the Infogo App Garage. Really stupid remark "it is illegal to install Waze". Below snapshot of the video presentation of the Clarion AX1 by one of the sales rep from Clarion Malaysia. Let's see what they gotta say. QUOTE(dichoz @ Dec 10 2015, 03:52 PM) is free for the 1st year lo.. 1k only inspection .. dint do anything .. and the 96k is really cheap lo. I see, thanks. Will be going to the SC later to do my first 1000km service. btw . my car is 40 days old with 1.6km mileage .. lately when I am using paddle shifter to manual driving .. whenever after revving ..there was a smell.. I don't know what is that smell.... any idea. burnt smell I guess?.. By the way, I received a call from Mitsubishi CS regarding the complain that I made pertaining to their Clarion player. It seems that there are some 'copyright issues' with Google Play Store hindering them from including Google-friendly apps as well as the ability to install our custom apps. He, however, mentioned that this matter will be brought to the higher management for their attention. Let's just wait and see |

QUOTE(kronos_fir18 @ Dec 13 2015, 08:45 PM) Did anyone try to re flash the player by using the original Clarion AX1 firmware? Have you done it? QUOTE(kronos_fir18 @ Dec 18 2015, 03:45 AM) This is as far as i got atm. That's cool. So once you upgrade the firmware, everything will be in place? I mean things like reverse camera etc. Any manual settings that needs to be done? This update improves: - audio performance of the head unit - stability in Bluetooth pairing, device display & handsfree calling mode - performance and behaviour in Bluetooth audio streaming mode - WIFI stability - reverse camera and fixes several known bugs - music player; can handle bigger song libraries better and playback functions will work correctly - video playback; now resumes correctly and several bugs were corrected - radio mode’s UI and general performance issues - over UI of the unit (GPS lock signal, status bar and volume indicators) taken from here ; https://www.myclarion.net/support-ax1_firmware How about installing custom apps? Is it possible now with the new firmware? |

I'm using the FL version (just bought like a month ago) and I do get the weird smell (not sure if it is the rubber smell but it smelled more like a bacon to me) whenever I go up to 120kmph.
The handling and pickup is good I would say. |

ASX owners with Clarion AX1 headunits, normally when you turn off your engine, do you long press the knob and choose 'Power Off' for your HU or abruptly turn off the engine? Any impact on this?
Lately, I've noticed that it will take a while for my AX1 unit to start up - when I started the engine, the warning message is being displayed for 3 ~ 4 minutes (NOTE: Although the 'OK' button is there, I can't seem to press on it) followed by the Mitsubishi animated logo and the desktop thereafter. One thing to note here is that my USB drive contains a lot of songs, but could this be a reason for the sudden late startup? Or some hiccups with my headunit? |

QUOTE(CuriOu5 @ Jan 11 2016, 05:11 PM) Mine can drive with the reverse camera on and all buttons not function-able. Up teen times it frozed at the loading screen. Worst of all Service Center unable to give me the service centre for the Infotainment. They only gave me the number to call but no one seems to be answering the call, sms or whatsapp. Yours freezing as well? Mine it freezes too at the loading screen and at times will take a while for the whole thing to start up. |

QUOTE(dayalan86 @ Jan 14 2016, 07:55 PM) 2.0GL is the entry level spec without the infotainment. If got steering Audio control is more than sufficient for me, I plan to upgrade the audio anyway If you plan to upgrade the audio, see if it will void any warranty or not since you are going to fit in a whole new headunit.Only thing I was told is that the 2015 ASX has better rear seats (more inclined). Need to check it out |
