The autofold mirror is necessary to me cos
1. The side mirrors are too damn wide
2. U can easily tell if ur car is locked or not by looking at its ears

QUOTE(maserati @ Feb 26 2016, 11:31 AM) There's a guy in Puchong that provides fantastic dent removal workmanship. Be warned - It's not cheap. Here's his website: yeah, i wouldn't be too bothered with the dingshttp://www.dent.com.my/background.htm I've sent my last few cars to his place before. Great result every time. But if I'm not mistaken, you're in East Malaysia right? i guess it's old age. u just say fk it. my car has many tiny dings and scratches. there's even a small pit on the windscreen it's 5 yrs old already, so i can accept it will all those blemishes |

QUOTE(peaceboy97 @ Feb 29 2016, 12:02 AM) i'd say go fro the HR-Vit's newer since it's been launched for only about a year the current ASX is already 5-1/2 yrs old. a replacement is due usually with 6 or 7 yr life cycle. but the waiting time for HRV might be long but if you need space, ASX has more space you need bigger space, then the CX5 is slightly bigger if you need bigger space, then x-trail and crv will fit your need nicely in conclusion, a used current gen CRV (ard rm 110k only) would be a good choice http://www.carlist.my/used-cars/2711928/20...i-vtec-4wd.html |

QUOTE(denver @ Apr 26 2016, 03:18 PM) If you are thinking about buying a new ASX, let me share my experience on one thing. When I bought my car, I was offered 2 years free service (labour and parts) worth RM3,000 which I thought was a good deal, because basically I will have zero maintenance cost in the first 2 years. you should have used 6-monthly instead of every 5,000kmNow I regret taking this offer. Why? Because there is no such thing as free. You are paying for it. I found out that if you dont want the free 2-year service (upto 40,000km service), you can get a discount of similar amount. The disadvantage of taking the free service offer is that you need to use it within 2 years, otherwise you will burn your free service. My problem is that my ASX is my wife's car, which we use as second car, so it is relatively low mileage. Now I have to use my ASX really hard to make sure I can reach 40,000km before my 2 year expired, so that I can get the 40,000km free service, which cost about RM2,000 as it is a major service. If I missed servicing my car before the 2 year expired, I will have to pay RM2,000 out of my own pocket. Essentially I already paid for this 40,000km service upfront, now because the car is low mileage, I run the risk of having to pay RM2,000 for the major service on my own if I dont send my car before 2 year expired or if my car not reach 40,000km yet. My advice, dont take the 2-year free service (labour and parts), and take the discount instead. That you way you can take your own sweet time to do service as an when your car reached 40,000km, and not have to rush and really use your ASX extensively just to make sure your car can reach 40,000km within 2 years so that you can claim my free service worth RM2,000. This is a lesson learnt from me which I am sharing with you guys. my car is > 5yrs old and it's only 52,000km LoL serviced every 6 month intervals regardless of km travelled |

QUOTE(denver @ Apr 26 2016, 03:57 PM) same engine as CBU, same interval, all the same. 10,000km or 6 monthly or 5,000km or 3 monthly if you drive in rough conditionbut i drive less than 10,000 a year. sometimes a bit more, but most of the time less even if i only drive 2,000km, but its already 6 month, i change oil also u see the syntium 3000 oil still so clear when i change the oil. the workshop mechs even asked me can they tapau the oil for their own use i say go ahead cos my new oil change is already paid |

QUOTE(denver @ Apr 26 2016, 03:58 PM) I have not found a way yet. To be honest, I have not even asked the service centre to look into this, because from what I read here, this is "normal", so I just accept it. interestingly, this happens mostly with CKD batchesmaybe if you can have a CBU and CKD side by side, you can compare the insulations and stuff like dat CBU even has CVT cooler on the left, lower side at the front bumper, near the foglight dunno CKD still retain this or not |

i had mine changed under voluntary recall in 2012
QUOTE(lucifah @ Jun 3 2012, 09:31 PM) Malaysia had this recall late last year apparaently it's the wiring harness bracket that is a bit sharp and may cut into the wiring harness that is the electric power steering control i replaced mine foc. takes about 1 hour to do it. refer to my earlier posts for pictures (got the letter in dec, but was too busy and was only able to do it in april) QUOTE(lucifah @ Apr 24 2012, 10:06 PM) just got my ASX from a warranty recall service - replacing the ECU wiring harness bracket apparently, the original wiring harness will become loose nad can cut into your power steering motor wiring (electrical p.s. btw) and can cause severe accident this is the harness bracket: ![]() and this is the guy doing the job ![]() |
