The sound of the thermostat switching on and off is rather loud. It is very audible from inside the car. Is this normal.

QUOTE(Refuzed @ Mar 16 2016, 12:20 PM) Anyone got any solution for that lousy Clarion AX1 player? (Enhanced ASX) Totally agreed. A crap Infotainment good for music only. Mine had So much problem and they changed the whole unit but the problem still the same. Now the GPS keeps looking for signal like foreverrrrrr Feel like screwing them up and down. Would upgrading the firmware ourselves could solve most of the underlying problem? How I wish we could install Waze in that player. |

QUOTE(gs20 @ Apr 13 2016, 11:01 PM) Gua interested in getting a ASX as well. You have to shop around. FOC 5 years may not be true for some. Some dealers gives you 5 years FOC service at the expense of lower discount. 2 years FOC service, higher discount. I saw online they got foc 5 years service. Is that promo still available? You have to do some work by calling the dealers. This post has been edited by CuriOu5: Apr 14 2016, 05:26 PM |

QUOTE(denver @ Apr 26 2016, 04:18 PM) If you are thinking about buying a new ASX, let me share my experience on one thing. When I bought my car, I was offered 2 years free service (labour and parts) worth RM3,000 which I thought was a good deal, because basically I will have zero maintenance cost in the first 2 years. Totally agree. Now I regret taking this offer. Why? Because there is no such thing as free. You are paying for it. I found out that if you dont want the free 2-year service (upto 40,000km service), you can get a discount of similar amount. The disadvantage of taking the free service offer is that you need to use it within 2 years, otherwise you will burn your free service. My problem is that my ASX is my wife's car, which we use as second car, so it is relatively low mileage. Now I have to use my ASX really hard to make sure I can reach 40,000km before my 2 year expired, so that I can get the 40,000km free service, which cost about RM2,000 as it is a major service. If I missed servicing my car before the 2 year expired, I will have to pay RM2,000 out of my own pocket. Essentially I already paid for this 40,000km service upfront, now because the car is low mileage, I run the risk of having to pay RM2,000 for the major service on my own if I dont send my car before 2 year expired or if my car not reach 40,000km yet. My advice, dont take the 2-year free service (labour and parts), and take the discount instead. That you way you can take your own sweet time to do service as an when your car reached 40,000km, and not have to rush and really use your ASX extensively just to make sure your car can reach 40,000km within 2 years so that you can claim my free service worth RM2,000. This is a lesson learnt from me which I am sharing with you guys. Good thing mine came with 2 years free service, 5 years warranty and cash discount. |

QUOTE(chuah_ph @ Apr 26 2016, 01:09 PM) I am looking at ASX, CX5 and Forester but wondering what the best deal for ASX now? 1) Ha ha Ha, I haven't smell the rubber smell from A/C vent when suddenly accelerate. Didn't have this problem with my 2015 FL ASX. So can't comment. Can I have the summary of cons on ASX as when I read through the forum, highly reflect issues are below: 1) Rubber Odor smell from A/C vent when sudden accelerate at >110km/h speed. Is this confirm fix in new 2016 model per some of the comment? 2) Player keep on hang and cacat Navi. Any firmware ugprade can fix this? 3) Rubber effect on CVT but I think this is normal for CVT gearbox w/ slow pick up. Any other issues? Thx 2) Useless piece of "shit" that all I can say. What firmware updates? It may turn the "shit" into a brick. 3) No comment. Any issues? Knocking sound when reversing. SA says it is due to the brake pads and should go away. 6 months and the sound is still there. |

QUOTE(vern86 @ Jun 20 2016, 02:51 PM) Hi All, Installed a brake pedal lock. Once locked, the gear stick immobilized. Current to the ignition disconnected. No wire cutting.Do you all buy any additional lock on this car? I plan to install an integrated lock but my sales person recommend not to do that as it will void the warranty. QUOTE(tiongkeat @ Jun 21 2016, 04:14 PM) dont installed it, the MMM have void my warranty because of that. i have to folk up 4k+ to repair the damages from their quotation, btw i still did not repair it just let the car run without warranty for the part. You can ask the installer not to connect the wiring.Peace of mind when parking in dark secluded area. This post has been edited by CuriOu5: Jun 21 2016, 04:49 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(tiongkeat @ Jun 21 2016, 08:00 PM) If yours is not connected to the electrical, there is no reason why MMM should void your warranty. Absurd. Does that mean if I install mud flaps on the car they will void my warranty. Totally no basis to void the warranty.Even if it is connected to the ignition it is just a wire by pass to break electric when the lock is engaged. They is no wire cutting and joining required in the installation. If I were you I'll write to HQ and state my case. If they still void the warranty, then I tell them I take the case to Consumer Tribunal Court. You just have to pay RM5 to have the case heard in the Court. https://ttpm.kpdnkk.gov.my/portal/index.php/en/ This post has been edited by CuriOu5: Jun 22 2016, 12:14 AM |

QUOTE(vern86 @ Jun 23 2016, 10:40 AM) I consulted my sales agent. she say as long as no wire cutting or soldering, it will be fine. after you did the installation, did you go for services? Yes, I did the first 2 services. Had the HU fixed a few times but in the end they changed a new HU for me after I wrote to MMM HQ to complain about the reverse camera always malfunction. This post has been edited by CuriOu5: Jun 23 2016, 05:01 PM |
