Dell S2316H Usage

Advantages:

1. Nice speakers:
The speakers which are in-built with the monitor are functioning pretty well. The speakers definitely suit you up as it produces the sound pretty well. Of course it could not match those speakers that are specially make for quality audio but it definitely matches decent and typical users for daily activities. Besides than that, you could save up your save than having the need to plug in any speakers cables. Click spoiler for video quality.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

2. Slim Bezels:
The bezels are much slimmer if compared to the predecessor S2340L. These bezels includes 0.5cm for the top bezels and 0.7 cm for the side bezels. Click spoiler for the images.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

3. Image quality
The quality of images and video produced are decent and does not throw any different colours if viewed from different angles. Click spoiler for the images.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

4. Light and portable
As the monitor is just a 21” monitor, it can be easily portable from one place to the another.

5. Dell Exchange Warranty
This monitor is protected by Dell Advance Exchange warranty which means that if there is any colour defect on this monitor within t3 years, Dell will provide a 1-to-1 exchange. Initially, the previous monitor came with a slight yellow tint and I Dell exchanged another brand new monitor for me within 3 business days.

6. Lesser reflection
Dell S2316H does makes lesser reflection compared to S2340L with its reduced reflection technology.

7. Environment-friendly materials:
Dell S2316H is made with arsenic-free glass and a mercury-free LED panel. Its circuit boards are made from brominated flame retardant (BFR) - and PVC-free laminates.

Disadvantages:

1. Yellow tint
Initially, when I first received this S2316H monitor, the monitor does come with a slight yellow tint. The replacement monitor came and it solves the yellow tinting issue and it’s much better now.

2. Lack of USB ports
This monitor does not come with any USB ports. This may cause some inconvenience especially if we to use these cables for our computer.

3. Inconvenient OSD buttons
The menu OSD buttons to control the brightness and sound are too soft and we might not know which buttons we are pressing. There are not labels telling which buttons are for what until the menu appears.

Better safe up for a better monitor in future.

I bought a S2240L for RM419 and if my memory served me right, I dont think I'm impressed with the image quality compared to the real IPS Dell WFP2007 that I bought for 1.2K. It almost like a TN screen, just slightly better. I get great colors from WFP2007 but no matter how I tried with S2240L, it is just off. Too dark or overblown brightness when cranked up.

I don't think it's really worth to upgrade from S2340L. The only difference I see between these two devices is the speaker. smile.gif

I don't think you got the pricing wrong. I bought S2240L this year also RM519. Now gone up a bit too. Luckily Lazada had codes to reduce it to RM419.

Hey I need a bit of help here. I purchased this monitor too but I can't really seem to get the audio to work with my monitor. I have purchased an audio cable to connect my PC with the monitor. Seems like there's no sound even if I selected PC audio instead of HDMI through on-screen menu.

Would you have any idea as to how can I fix this problem?

Try connect only HDMI, then go to NVidia control panel or AMD control panel. There got display setting for HDMI audio.

So, it means I can't plug in a headphone into it? If I want to listen to a song I won't be able to listen to it using a headphone because it doesn't have a headphone plugin?

I'm currently using this monitor.

Personally I'm in love with the display. Very bright, color looks realistic to non-art people like me. Very beautiful.

But one concern is when try to connect HDMI to my laptop, my laptop said not found external display. Padahal my laptop can connect seamlessly with 4K TV display.
