QUOTE(bryanyeo87 @ May 18 2007, 02:02 AM) its a collection of a few ppls fundings to open that account... wow.. only 5 months you dare to accept people's money & trade for them? some people at least traded for 2 - 5 years before manage people's money. forex is long term business, otherwise you will be out from this game. be very careful next time.. i test with a mini account at base capital of 250usd only before starting this fund.. for the past 5mths been testing a strategy whc gave almost 141% ROI per month of trading from my mini account for 5mths ade then i started the standard account with cousins... but now seems to be losing $$ at a rate of -15% ROI Per month, i think i became trigger happy when i handle that standard account...i hold the largest share so decisions are mine to make...but still the loss is like not nice la..next CNY sure kena screwed wan if continue like this... i know im still a noob in this FX, thats why i ask for you sifu/tok guru in this thread to help me learn..and for us to learn more, after all, even if i do learn something great and share it out, it wont affect my profits/losses, and im pretty sure if you guys were to learn something new too, it will not affect on ur profit or loss when u share it out right? good luck! |

QUOTE(bryanyeo87 @ May 21 2007, 09:23 PM) to be frank with them, i told them that FX is 50/50 profit and loss, if u were to flip a coin and consider head as short and tail as long, ur chances would be 50/50 to either make or lose money. But charts/fundamental are to increase that chance so we get 60 or maybe even 70. That is what i feel. hmm.. interesting idea, win/loss ratio could be fun. i always wait for confirmation before entry, it is much safer.Would u not agree with me? Dont agree with me? well try this out, Have a little experiment before u sleep everyday with a demo account, dont look at the charts, dont look at fundamental, just flip a coin and either go short or long according to your coin flip and set TP to 30 pips for each trade and stop loss at 30 pips. Try this with a demo account and tell me what are ur profit:loss ratio. |

QUOTE(woopypooky @ May 22 2007, 04:33 PM) Hi, just started demo trading for 10 days, i wan to ask something; i dunno why you make this so complicated. most important is you need to watch pip per value you traded.Q1:- Lets say i put in US$1000 into live trade. And i use leverage 100:1 so it will means that i will have US$100,000 to trade right? Then lets say i use 10% of it which is US$10,000 to open a position (could be 0.1 or 1.0 lot depending on the broker) and i earns 11 pips. So if the broker spread is 1 pip, then 11-1=10pips ,let say it is USD/CAD so 10 pips will be 0.0010 x 1/1.08 x US$10,000 = around ~US$10. then the balance in my trade account will be US$1,010 and US$101,000 after leverage. Q2. let say i use up to 50% of my fund; US$50,000 (my initial US$500) to open a few positions, then since 1 pip ~ US$1, it means that i can suffer up to -500 pips negative before i get margin call right? Correct? please tell me if i am wrong. if your broker full lot size is 10k for mini account. that means you enter 1.00 lot size on your trade equal to 1 dollar per pip, price up or down 10 pips you will gain or loss 10 dollar. 0.10 lot equal to 10 cent per pip 0.01 lot equal to 1 cent per pip if your broker full lot size is 100k for standard account. that means you enter 1.00 lot size on your trade equal to 10 dollar per pip, price up or down 10 pips you will gain or loss 100 dollar. 0.10 lot equal to 1 dollar per pip 0.01 lot equal to 10 cent per pip for margin call, it is different on every broker, usually if your margin level drop down to 50%, all the negative trade will be closed automatically to prevent further loss, probably you still have 5 - 10% of your money left in there. getting into negative amount of your account balance is rare. Leverage DOES NOT matter. This post has been edited by jong52yuara: May 22 2007, 05:40 PM |

QUOTE(woopypooky @ May 23 2007, 08:42 AM) so lets say i wan to try with US$1000 first, with 100:1 leverage , so every 1 pip i earn and lose will be US$1 dollar right? if you didnt tell us your account is either mini or standard, how to calculate?for mini account full lot usually is 10k : - 1.00 lot is 1 dollar per pip - 0.10 lot is 0.10 cent per pip - 0.01 lot is 0.01 cent per pip for standard account full lot usually is 100k : - 1.00 lot is 10 dollar per pip - 0.10 lot is 1 dollar per pip - 0.01 lot is 0.10 cent per pip |

QUOTE(woopypooky @ May 27 2007, 02:19 PM) oh i am using interbank MT4, so its GMT. spread for usd/cad = 5 pips, usd/chf = 4 pips.BTW what is the spread for interbankfx? is it always stay put at 3 pips for USD? i plan to trade with interbankfx with real account sometime in near future so what is the pip spread for USD/CAd and USD/CHF? i heard some broker had higher spread during major news and weekends, is that true? during news time spread will widen for 1 - 2 minutes. open & close hours for interbankfx is Sunday 22:00 GMT until Friday 20:00 GMT. Malaysian time open at Monday 6am until Saturday 4am |
