I dont even care to use AV. It slows me down, and in the case of McAfee as proven in our work environment, has been causing problems as much as overzealous policeman... The only reason I run windows defender is solely because it has already been built in and doesnt seem to slow me down or cause unnecessary problems.

I won't recommend no AV at all to common folks even if my track record is so shiny even without AV. The reason is that common folks lacks common sense, trust me it isnt only in computing. And apparently the best defender for your PC is your own common sense.

"Someone who is very innocent share a porn video on his timeline? I must click them!"
"oh, this news' headline is rape story. Must read!"
"I must not watch indescent thing on the web. Oh look, naked women on my timeline"
"oh, i got an english text who doesn't even know there are other languages out there other than his own language. I must click the link!"

Install the best AV in these people's computer, they might even disable the AV out of their curiosity lacking common sense after being blocked by the AV. But at least they have been warned by their respective AV

I do agree the bold part, but then most of the time, some people require to transfer certain files from different sources frequently.

If everyone plays their role in using the common sense, this won't even be an issue... Because there is no infection to begin with...
