so if I go and apply, I should opt for Maybank 2 Cards AMEX and Visa + Maybank Islamic MasterCard Ikhwan right? is this possible?
*
Yes, possible.
Ikhwan is more difficult to apply. Probably you apply that first before M2Cards, at least I find M2Cards are easier to be approved.

Hi all, newbie here.

I've read alot about this thread, just want some suggestion from you guys, i wanted a credit card that able to do installment e.g. PS4, or iphone 6. (Maybe for 12 month repayment)

Which card is suitable for me? My salary is below 3k.

Thank you in advance. smile.gif
*
Maybank2Cards is already sufficient. However, must be RM 2.5k and above per month.
EpiCentre and Harvey Norman have installment plan for Maybank cards.

However, as a piece of advice, don't start with installments, it is no good for your saving in long term. Buy only if you can afford. smile.gif

Also take note of the finance charges. Certain outlet will charge 4% finance charges even though is 0% installment.

Last I heard, Aeon Big doesnt have any charges, but I am not sure.
*
Those I mentioned have no finance charges.

It depends how much you have left for your camera installment. If little bit of excess, they still allow.

anyone know what is SUPPLEMENTARY SHEET (attaching to and forming part of the Application Form For Credit Card Facility) ?

I request upgrade the card from gold to plat, they replied me this form and asked me to fill and return back.

is it after fill up the form will get approved?

@fruitie
any idea?
*
Wait, is this the one declaring your current credit? Like loan? If yes, I have filled in few times when I applied for new cards. I think these days all banks have.

upgrade took me 2 weeks still pending, then only got this form to fill.
I asked branch staff he said after submit will get approved.  hmm.gif
don't think can trust or not.

btw, why you said upgrade is easy leh?
*
I see. My card upgrade was done in KLCC and it was approved within few days. smile.gif

From gold to plat, easy peasy. So long your salary fulfills the requirement, can be approved.
Based on my own experience when I upgraded mine.

Hi all,
I will like to apply for MBB 2 gold card to replace the HSBC card.

FYI, this is my first time terminating a card, I think I can just call the HSBC CS centre and tell them about this.

I owe them a few hundred ringgits and I gona settle that next month as my card expires in Dec.

What else I need to know and do apart from the above two steps?
eg. Get an official email from HSBC regarding the termination?
*
I got their confirmation via email. Yes, just to keep a black and white especially I really dislike HSBC.

I hope you're not keeping it just for the sake of the treatpoints.

That's the whole purpose of me keeping my AmEx card just for TP. laugh.gif
It is a good card as I have redeemed so many stuff via TP. laugh.gif biggrin.gif

My credit limit is RM5000.
Last month I spend about RM15,000. I can do this because I pay immediately using M2U to make my outstanding RM0.

I want to book a hotel that cost RM7,000 total. It is possible if I go to atm and bank in RM2,000 for my credit card then I can book the RM7,000 hotel?

How Maybank set the credit limit? My salary is RM4,000.

Thanks.
*
Yes, can top up your credit limit with CDM.

You can request to increase credit limit, they will need your 3 months latest payslip.

For RM4,000 salary, how much can I set the credit limit?
*
I don't know how they determine, most likely 8k or if lucky 10k.
Sometimes unlucky will be less than 2x.

Mine was around 3x.

I also find it weird, the treatpoints redemption link maybank put on their website(http://www.maybank2u.com.my/en/personal/cards/card-features/treatspoints.page) is "https://www.maybankard.net.my/", which is now pointing to a superbuy.com's website.

Anyone know if nowadays the on-the-spot redemption will cost same points with online/fax redemption(via postage)?
*
No. On-the-spot is 400 TP = RM 1.

Hi all,

I want to apply for this Platinum Maybank 2 cards AMEX & Visa and thinking to send Maybank my LHDN BE form for 2014 as a supporting document.

But the amount in my BE form is just RM58,025

I believe the eligible amount needed to apply for this Platinum Maybank 2 cards would be min RM60k

the question is...can i still apply and would they approve it?

Thanks
*
We won't know because we are not from the approving department. However, you can try. smile.gif No harm though. The worst is only you might be given with Gold card instead.

I upgraded mine through 3 months payslip.
