hi all,

i'm planning my first trip to korea during the CNY holiday period.

i did some research but before i confirm and book my flight, i would like to seek more input if i miss out any good deal.

from what i have searched, below 2 seems to be the best deal:

airasia (to & flo): Rm1k + tax
cathay pacific (to & flo) : RM 2k + tax
thai airways (to & flo): rm 2.5k + tax

thanks. do let me know if there's any other airlines that provide cheaper flights.

18th. Nov. This thread has very little traveler's review on Korea and only rely on Hui_yin and Seng to give hands on Korean experiences. This was mainly due to the first batch of AirAsia-Lowyat.net Korea travelers still haven't fly off yet.
When is AA first flight to Korea ar ?

One piece of advice to you....book your room NOW !!! if you want cheap and good location.

As for Garmin, I DLoaded but haven't install yet.

Just in case you are a business person who must answer incoming calls even you are roaming overseas, there is a cheaper option for you. Check out International call forwarding service and enjoy up to 90% discount off telco's roaming rates.
As for outgoing call, you still can use Skype out to make call for maximum savings.

Thank you Stimix. I undecided to take train or limo bus from airport to downtown.
Any sifu knows how to calculate the cost of taking Airport train+MRT to say Myeongdon area ?
Will the train ride in underground thru out the whole journey ?

I would prefer Limo Bus because if taking train, one have to carry the luggers up and down to switch/transfer lines few times in order to reach the downtown destination.

Actually 334k won only can't achieve big saving la, after discounting the traveling cost to Kota Kemuning to COD. Wait till I come back on 23rd November if I have balance Korean money.

If can get this at Incheon airport, the rate really marked to the market!! 2.76  shocking.gif

Tnx added this to 1st page
*
How you get 2.76 ? RM to won directly ? The problem is where to find exchange that accept ringgit ?

If 1USD =RM3.11 = 1,065.7 won

1000won=RM2.8383

Sorry, but how do you arrived at RM2.6627 ?

RM1 = KRW362.02
KRW1000 = RM2.7623

As of now, Cash selling KRW354.8 = RM1. Translate to KRW1000 = RM2.8184 .

Still better than Wawasan's.
*
The things is you risk not able to find exchange booth accepting RM or accepting RM but give lousy rates if you don't change to USD first.

Safer to calculate based on USD first:

1USD =RM3.11 = 1,065.7 won
1000won=RM2.8383

Exchange rate is 1.08 usd at airport. 1.05 at hotel. Still cheaper to change at malaysia I think.

Air Asia sucks by the way.

Sachoom show is niceeeeee!!must watch!! Remember take pic with sexy n pretty dancers too! tongue.gif

Ok I wan go itaewon Liao.
*
Wait wait wait....what about the weather and color of trees in Seoul?
Do share why AA sucks. No on board entertainment ?

If you mean 1USD=1,080won then it is = RM2.88/1000won in Malaysia based on 1USD=RM3.11. Any commission charge ?

The official exchange rate (selling) is 1USD=1,117.70won as of today. (RM2.78/1000won)
http://www.visitseoul.net/en/info/exchange...4007002007&p=07

From my research, taking AREX + MRT for Incheon airport transfer is the cheapest.

Inchoen(3500won)->Gimpo(1200won)->down town seoul station
Total 4,700won per person. But have to do two train transfers

Limo bus is around 10,000won per person. More expensive but with on the ground view of Seoul city and no need transfer.
