hi need your help.

My father is using subline for my celcom line (post paid without internet plan).
last week i change new smart phone for him.
and i'm not aware of the data is on (i think that i'm using my wifi at house) to download a apps.
after i aware, i quickly turn it off.

and the bill come now is charging me 872 unit (1 unit = 10kb) = rm87.2!!! cry.gif

anyone can advice me what can I do now? can i request for waive it or pay less with discount? rm87.2 for 8.7MB is too expensive..

hope someone with experience can advice me

thank you very much!!

Smartphone but no data package? Better give your father a basic phone bro. Even if this time got waived, believe me, with a smartphone this can happen again.

rm87 for telco is not consider a big number.

you can try make rayuan, although i doubt it will be useful.

i think you need to help your father off the internet in his smart phone totally. or subscribe him a simple data plan which have like 1gb quota

There's nothing you can do.
Pay and move on. Learn from mistake.

And buy a 1GB data for him. Or else the same thing will happen again.

there is nothing you can do. They won't entertain coz it's not their fault that you didn't turn off data.

From what I've read, I believe this data usage is (carelessly) done by TS while helping to set up a newly-bought smartphone.

New smartphones normally have these things like data, GPS, Sync, etc, turned on from factory, so we've to be very careful to turn them off then ensure a Wifi connection before starting the set-up process.

Back then when the smartphone is still new. Many cases like this. Go to Kedai Celcom (not agent) and tell your story. You might get discount or even write off, depends on the manager there ... wink.gif

Lesson learned for TS. From now on, go to setting and turn off data usage for apps that can consume a lot of data, eg. app store. It really helps to control data usage.

My ownself I only allow usage for Whatsapp, FB Messenger, cinema apps, Airasia and Safari.

Gotta be brain smart on certain things for example, beware on Whatsapp as although texting consumes very negligible amount of data, videos/photos sent by your contacts can potentially consume a lot if you're downloading them on data. In Whatsapp, best to disable auto download features.
