Firstly some background, my D5 pump has been making continuous grinding/whirring sound for a while now (few weeks). I initially thought its due to air in the pump so gave the PC a 'little' shake
Now to the main issue, last weekend I was just browsing suddenly the pump sounded stretched (don’t know how to describe it haha) and I noticed the temp of my GPU and CPU climbing up rapidly 1-2deg every min on my keyboard HWinfo. When I look at the tubing, the flow of water seems to slow down (not sure since I dont have a physical flow indicator in my loop). Then the pump emitted one long whirr and just went silent…
After that i quickly shutdown my PC and have not started it since, scared if it will aggravate the pump condition. Now my question is,
1) Is the pump dead?
2) if above is so, anything can be done to salvage the pump?
Any inputs much appreciated.
