my project that i've started between graduation and looking for job, with little money available, and scrapping whatever I can get my hand on.
To anyone who wants to try and do it, I strongly recommend it. Build it, fix it yourself, and have your own keyboard that is designed and programmed to you own liking. Still my daily workhorse in office.

And dont think about how expensive the hobby is. You may have more money afterwards, but priority in life might change which is what happening to me now; work, marriage and little devil coming in few months

Hi guys. Recently been developing an obsession towards mechanical keyboards. Problem is I don't know which switch is for me for sure. I've went to lowyat and played around with the switch tester but I'm still unsure.

So I thought it would make sense to just choose a keyboard with cherry mx reds first as I play a lot of fps games. But if later I find out the switch is not right for me, I can just buy another keyboard.

So this means I should probably avoid the expensive ones for my first mech kb right? Any problems with my way of thinking or any better alternatives to figure out which switch to choose? 

Also I'm looking at a tkl since I really like the idea of not extending your shoulders(better ergonomic) and the supposed benefit to fps games.

PS: I only got 1 friend with a mech kb and I don't think he will lend it to me to try out haha.

Even though I only spent some time with my new keyboard, I do noticed the difference when using brown and red. Although red is easier to type, it's also easier to make mistakes. Even though it barely differ from brown, once you start typing, you tend to type faster and faster due to the less force needed for each key press. I think I will need some time to get used to it, when compared to brown.

I went from a brown switch to red switch like you as well. I made tons of mistakes at first but after 2 or 3 days i got used to it, and reds are now my favourite switch! And i am consistently typing faster on red switch than brown switch as well.

need some help here, new to this mechanical keyboard. came across this thread a while back while looking at popular topics.
First impression was wtf these keyboards are expensive few hundred almost a 1k
2nd wow was so many enthusiast here (7 new threads in 2015)

I have previously used and love the microsoft keyboard ergonomics 4000.

absolutely love the keyboard layout. but only thing is the keys suck they dont last long, in a few months to 1 years some keys fail. these keyboard are about RM250 each.
there is nothing else quite like this keyboard layout at that price.

Now for my main questions are blue switches.
I have not tested any switch yet, will go to a pc shop and try when i get a chance.

red - not gamer, i prefer tactile feel
blue seems to be the popular choice for typist but its too loud.
brown seems to suit me spec wise?
green - how does that feel? page 1 description is not that clear.

what different between Ducky Zero and Ducky One?

Ergonomics mechanical keyboards are just way too expensive? unless someone knows where i can find a clone in taobao or something.

You can get custom TKL. I estimate around double the price of a normal TKL. Trust me, everyone gets a custom on their path to enlightenment.

is there any custom 'Spacebar' keycap for K70?
