QUOTE(faridr @ Mar 2 2016, 11:16 PM) aww quovadis123 my project that i've started between graduation and looking for job, with little money available, and scrapping whatever I can get my hand on. To anyone who wants to try and do it, I strongly recommend it. Build it, fix it yourself, and have your own keyboard that is designed and programmed to you own liking. Still my daily workhorse in office. And dont think about how expensive the hobby is. You may have more money afterwards, but priority in life might change Congratz for your life achievements, bro. Hopefully, more people will follow your path in DIY. |

QUOTE(dadudeneverabides @ Mar 4 2016, 03:59 PM) Exactly. Lolx. They keep talking about not running business, but the whole thing so big and yet they have shit level of management. Totally sucks btw. Semuanya salah buyer. *sarcastic*They do like community service, bro. Must appreciate. They do have full time job, and yet they donate out their time for community. The whole things need sort keycaps, need pay for sorting, need travel to factory etc, gas money. Topkek. |

QUOTE(Ronin_Amin @ Mar 4 2016, 06:39 PM) Hi guys. Recently been developing an obsession towards mechanical keyboards. Problem is I don't know which switch is for me for sure. I've went to lowyat and played around with the switch tester but I'm still unsure. Your method is good.So I thought it would make sense to just choose a keyboard with cherry mx reds first as I play a lot of fps games. But if later I find out the switch is not right for me, I can just buy another keyboard. So this means I should probably avoid the expensive ones for my first mech kb right? Any problems with my way of thinking or any better alternatives to figure out which switch to choose? Also I'm looking at a tkl since I really like the idea of not extending your shoulders(better ergonomic) and the supposed benefit to fps games. PS: I only got 1 friend with a mech kb and I don't think he will lend it to me to try out haha. Please proceed with MX Red. Later on, you find what you want in the future. |

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Mar 4 2016, 07:51 PM) Even though I only spent some time with my new keyboard, I do noticed the difference when using brown and red. Although red is easier to type, it's also easier to make mistakes. Even though it barely differ from brown, once you start typing, you tend to type faster and faster due to the less force needed for each key press. I think I will need some time to get used to it, when compared to brown. Brown has tactile feedback, very good for typing use and can you will know when you type wrong.I'm tactile switch users. |

QUOTE(DreamScars @ Mar 4 2016, 10:34 PM) I went from a brown switch to red switch like you as well. I made tons of mistakes at first but after 2 or 3 days i got used to it, and reds are now my favourite switch! And i am consistently typing faster on red switch than brown switch as well. From heavy to light, typing speed will boost. |

QUOTE(justnits @ Mar 7 2016, 01:09 PM) another rapid-i victim lol Many years d board already. At least last longer than my previous Ducky Shine 2. i am really curious if it's only due to faulty batches of LED or faulty pcb design... since the same happens to ducky shine 3 and 4? Well, I normally took this Rapid-i for most of my product photography. Now rosak "R", still can use "Esc" for single keycap photography. Rapid-i tahan few years, must cukur. Ducky Shine 2 last time bad luck last less than 1 year then rosak LED. QUOTE(richard912 @ Mar 7 2016, 01:12 PM) Eeks......hope my recently acquired Rapid-i will be okay. If not, I'll have a reason to get a new MKB Can 1-to-1 exchange if you still have warranty. Btw, Rapid-i is the best-selling keyboards of CM. |

QUOTE(Leon be here now @ Mar 7 2016, 01:22 PM) Hi all Ergonomics type of keyboards are expensive.need some help here, new to this mechanical keyboard. came across this thread a while back while looking at popular topics. First impression was wtf these keyboards are expensive few hundred almost a 1k 2nd wow was so many enthusiast here (7 new threads in 2015) I have previously used and love the microsoft keyboard ergonomics 4000. https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http:/...OB2AQMwgdKAAwAA absolutely love the keyboard layout. but only thing is the keys suck they dont last long, in a few months to 1 years some keys fail. these keyboard are about RM250 each. there is nothing else quite like this keyboard layout at that price. Now for my main questions are blue switches. I have not tested any switch yet, will go to a pc shop and try when i get a chance. red - not gamer, i prefer tactile feel blue seems to be the popular choice for typist but its too loud. brown seems to suit me spec wise? green - how does that feel? page 1 description is not that clear. what different between Ducky Zero and Ducky One? their prices seems to be cheapest mechanical keyboard in Malaysia http://www.lelong.com.my/ducky-dk2108-mech...7-02-Sale-P.htm http://www.lelong.com.my/ducky-one-cherry-...7-01-Sale-I.htm Ergonomics mechanical keyboards are just way too expensive? unless someone knows where i can find a clone in taobao or something. For us normal users, get a TKL, will fit your needs. Not bad, and optimized for basic ergonomics needs. <<green - how does that feel? page 1 description is not that clear.>> Thanks for the feedback about description not clear. MX Green is like heavy version of Blue. Clicky + Tactile. Not recommended for typist spend long hours on work. For your case, try MX Brown. Which can prevent you have fingers fatigue for long hours typing. Tactile can able to correct your typing mistake, very good for touch-typing. Ducky Zero is basic spec Ducky, Made in China, and cheapest among all Ducky keyboards. Ducky One is latest series, lower spec compared to Shine-series, however it's made in Taiwan like other Ducky top series. Avoid LELONG/11street/lazada, or you may buy at your own risk. We advised you first, but if you insist to keep buy, then later don't complain. |

QUOTE(Chryos1029 @ Mar 7 2016, 06:24 PM) Does anyone know about AMJ40? Definitely interesting. Seems to be an interesting layout http://world.taobao.com/item/524230545942....196601.3.JN3hb0 Maybe make it as extra layout for macros for daily multi-task for work use. If for typing, 60% and bigger layouts are practical still. Thanks for sharing. |

QUOTE(irsyadfy @ Mar 7 2016, 08:07 PM) i noticed the PgUp button on top right. Hardware side:can we like reconfigure that button to another button? and all other button on that cluster too? does my question make sense to anyone? configure in bootloader Software side: For example, my capslock position key is remapped to backspace. Use autohotkey in Windows or Karabiner in Mac. This post has been edited by quovadis123: Mar 7 2016, 08:39 PM |

QUOTE(dadudeneverabides @ Mar 8 2016, 08:30 AM) You can get custom TKL. I estimate around double the price of a normal TKL. Trust me, everyone gets a custom on their path to enlightenment. True, but right now I'm back to the normal keyboard rat race. Custom out of my reach.Feeling alive once a while, because coming back here to comment. -- Just done a 18 hours coding marathon, finishing 4 iteration of major updates for my website. |
